We had a great stay in Renasci and highly recommend it. All the staff is very attentive and welcoming. It was spacious, with beautiful decors and multiple spots to enjoy yourself outside of your room (had a little Bali vibe to it). There is even a terrace with couch and yoga mats and a mini outdoor gym. We were working remotely and they even upgraded us to a bigger room with access to a quiet place to work, it was perfect. There are 2 different wifis, if one is down the other should work. Rooms were spacious. Beautiful/clean pool. Great breakfast included. Free coffee/tea. You can buy water, beer, etc. on-site. There is also laundry ($) on-site. Easy walk to the main street. We would definitely come back to Renasci Palomino 💙 Thank you for the beautiful stay!

Facing the beachfront, UUTTAAKA Eco-Hotel offers 3-star accommodation in Palomino and has a garden, terrace and restaurant. Germann and his staff were really warm and welcoming. I only planned on staying one night and ended up staying four! The food at the restaurant was excellent and the location, away from the noise of the city, was exactly what I was looking for. Comfortable beds, hammocks on the beach and even a yoga studio! There was also a free salsa night which I really enjoyed. Highly recommended.

Herman and staff were so welcoming. We are a large group of 14, we showed up with reservations for 12. No problem, he quickly added 2 extra beds and made us feel right at home. And, that's just it, the place is really comfortable and has several areas to hang out. Peaceful jazz and ragae, a wonderful vibe.

The room was spacious and the breakfast delicious (eggs, fruits, pancake and more). There is free coffee and tea all day and you can fill up your water bottle as well. The patio where they serve breakfast is cute and there is a large terrace with hammocks on the first floor. The location is great - less than 10 minutes walk from the beach and because of that calm at night. The owner is super helpful and speaks several languages. And to top it up, they have an adorable cuddly cat. They have a generator, so there are no issues in case of power cuts. And the wifi also worked very well. I would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful setting, right on the beach. Bungalows very comfortable and nicely set out. Great food in the restaurant.

The food is super delicious & the staff are sweet & attentive. It’s incredibly good value for money - 4 or even 5 star standard for 2 star prices. I’d also really recommend doing some of the tours the hotel offers - they’re much cheaper than if you Google. I went horse riding & to an indigenous village & both experiences were so special.

There are not many things to do in Riohacha, so you will have to take trips to Cabo de la Vela, Playa Camaron o Playa Palominos, if you want to explore beautiful nature of Guajira. However, keep in mind that Guajira is an extremely poor region, so if you travel there be prepared to see indigenous Wayu people asking for money in every corner. It is heart breaking to see little ones asking for a bottle of water. It's a rather rough trip, don't look for all inclusive hotels or other luxury things there.

Palomino, Guajira is a small tourist town with kind locals, several hostel options and things to do. I don't feel the locals are overbearing, they are respectful, yet helpful and the pueblo has a lot to offer. It is also about an hour away (give or take) from Tayrona (Tairona) a hot spot in Magdalena. If you plan to visit please be courteous to the surroundings and don't litter.

Riohacha is the place to stay if you're heading up into La Guajira... There is nothing here to do really. Good Arabic restaurant, surprisingly! Shocking poverty in this region - very sobering.

A very relaxed and simple town. The main road is about a mile from the beach down a dirt road where all the main hostels are. An hour away from Tayrona, gateway to the rest of La Guajira and tubing down the river and three great reasons to spend a day or two lazing by the pool in Palomino. The beach is nice but the water isn't Caribbean clear and with a strong current it's not advisable to swim in so make sure your hostel/hotel has a pool!

The breakfast at Playa Roca Ecohotel was amazing! They had the coolest thing ever - plantain pancakes! They were so tasty and different from regular pancakes. I loved every bite! The dinner was even better! We ate tasty seafood, and then we had a bonfire on the beach! The staff was really nice and made everything perfect.

Best location in Riohacha, best hotel in Riohacha. Some previous reviews mentioned the noise outside of the air conditioning units but I had no issues with either. It was a peaceful nights sleep and can’t beat the location. The breakfast was fresh and available until 10, excellent hospitality, fantastic view from the top floor terrace where the restaurant is. Alisonn was really nice and we've felt very comfortable, moreover she bakes really good and tasty bread, delicious. In the end we stayed one night longer and we've really enjoyed the place and the calmness. The river is really close and it was amazing and very refreshing to cool down there. We also loved the not so central location, away from the main street but yet so close to reach everything easily.
