The old parts of Konya are beautiful. The new parts are interesting. This city feels very traditional and profoundly Turkish. Very little globalisation and not much English spoken here. It is very different from Istanbul or Ankara - it is slower and less frantic than its urban counterparts. Religion obviously plays a big part in this culture, but stick to the rules, show respect, and you are welcome everywhere. The mosques and the monuments are beautuful, but so too are the markets and bazaars. Prices are very reasonable, so good food and bargains are not hard to find.

Konya is a huge city, depending of what you are looking for, you have to chose you area wisely. There is plenty of country side and beautiful scenery, but a long drive from where we were if you are planning to find nightlife or entertainment it might be difficult. The area we were in, we visited some restaurants, food is good, but most of them you cannot consume alcohol. so if you plan to go out after a days work and have a drink you can forget it.

I went to Konya to attend Mevlana's death anniversary and enjoyed it a lot. Significant experience with the food, people, architecture, everything. It was a spiritual trip, so I greatly enjoyed the city.
It's easy to get around, and the bus/tram connection is excellent. You can buy a city card, top it up, and move around.
It had terrific world-best falafel and hummus opposite Shah Shames Tabreez's tomb—a must-visit place.
Great and affordable grill and other food options near Azizyea 🕌 mosque inside old streets of Konya.
I visited Sille, a beautiful historic village only 30 minutes by bus from Konya city center.

Konya gives you a high sense of spiritually most likely because of its connection with Mevlana Rumi and Shams Tabriz. It is not as crowded as Istanbul so it's more enjoyable. The mosque ans the tomb of the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykabut, located on a strategic hillock, has a beautiful garden and a very good to relax. Out of all the goid restaurants, Sufi Restaurant offers the best cuisine. We enjoyed Konya''s signature dish, the Firin Kebap and the dessert Hosmerism. They are a must to eat.

I had never been to Konya, so we hired a guide for a 7-hour walking tour. Konya is an ancient city (Roman name was Iconium) as well as a pilgrimage site for many sufis, since both Rumi and his mentor Shems-i Tabrizi have tombs in the city. The Mevlevi dervish sema at the Mevlana Cultural Center is a big draw for people from all over the world. Even though the ceremony is choreographed, in a large arena more suitable for a basketball game, the performance was genuinely felt, and emotionally moving.
Good location of hotel with private parking was available which we needed as we drove to Turkey in two cars.
The rooms were nice and we had air conditions in each room which was definitely needed as it was around 30degC when we were there.
Quite a few shops and cafes are around. At the back, there is even a small park with a water fountain where a lot of people were in the evening. We got some grilled corn during nighttime.
A 200-year old house converted into a boutique hotel with large rooms in a central location. The owner goes the extra mile to make sure that your stay is enjoyable and everything has the personal touch. Breakfast is lavish with a great choice of fresh, local produce. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Konya for comfort and high levels of personal service at a very reasonable price.
This is an amazing hotel for the price we paid. We were very happy with our choice to stay here. And unlike previous reviews- we didn’t smell any smoke in our room or in the lobby. The wifi was really strong, the food (room service) was good and was a great price. The girl who checked us in was friendly, and so was the girl helping at breakfast and the girl who brought our room service.
Everything was excellent. me and my wife stayed only for a single night while we were passing through Konya on our trip around Turkey, and though we had only a limited stay our mind was blown. It is easily the best room we've been in while we were in Turkey, and without a doubt an excellent value for its price.
Good room, everything we needed for a one night stopover in Konya. The hotel has an old timey feel. Vintage. Extra blankets in the room for a chilly December night. Hot shower. Breakfast was good. Typical Turkish buffet. Lots of choices to nibble on. Bread was very fresh!
The hotel is well known in Konya and popular for business trips. We were upgraded for free to a family suite, which was one of the biggest suites I have ever seen. Everything was very clean and the staff was very careful and supportive. The breakfast was excellent.
The people at the desk welcoming you were wonderful. Attentive, all questions addressed. The area was absolutely perfect. Near some of the major attractions. The room was very good, with comfortable beds. Our stay in Konya was one of the highlights of the vacation.
the hotel has a good location, in the heart of the old town
it is also close to the tram and museums
the room was more beautiful and clean on the photos than in reality, but If i return another day to Konya I will take again without hesitation mevlana hotel
This is a great hotel. Our room was, big, clean and comfortable. It has everything to make your stay very pleasant, like a very convenient covered parking and amazing included breakfast. The facilities are modern and big and the staff is helpful and polite.
It was simple amazing. It's a very cosy hotel, I loved my room, the beautiful design, the delicious Turkish breakfast, felt like home from the first time. The staff was very nice, they are helpful. If I will go to Konya again I will choose this hotel.
It is ideally located in the middle of the old business district and close to Movelana museum. Lots of food choices around the hotel in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful in all aspects of the stay. True Turkish hospitality.
The location of the hotel is really the best.. Literally a stone's throw from Mevlana Museum... The location is at the heart of Konya.. We could easily walk and go to restaurants, souvenir shops, Aziziye market....I'm glad i picked this hotel!
Hotel was just 10 minutes drive from Konya YhT fast train station. Staff was very helpful and overall really good value for money.
Breakfast was very nice and lots of variety. Reception staff helped to order food late night.
One of the best hotels in Konya. I stayed several times here and everything is perfect. The restaurant is very nice, the staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is good and the rooms are also very comfortable.
I loved everything. Konya is a magical city, and my stay in Aziziye hotel made my trip exceptional. I would like to thank abi and Anne. Çok teşekkürler. I will miss the beautiful Cami view.
