The rooms were exactly as in the pictures and really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this Ryokan to anyone going to Kyoto. It is quite central so you can easily walk or take public transport to all the popular locations.

In the Sakyo Ward district of Kyoto, close to Heian Shrine, 明和荘Mei Wa Inn features a garden and a washing machine. This was one of the best place I have stayed in Japan. The space felt like a cozy home. Many amenities were included(hair care, body, toothpaste). Bathroom and toliet is separated, which is great. The young owner was really considerate and gave clear orientation to the house. He also recommended alot of the different restaurants and places to visit. Additionally, answered all questions we had in a quick manner. I would definitely come back again when I am in Kyoto.
