They had a lot of variety for the dinner and breakfast. Everything was very clean. The best part was the very nice staff, especially during the meals. I’m terrible with names, but I especially appreciate the waiter who helped us who was originally from Nepal. There was also an older gentleman who made origami for our kids, but every person we me was super kind and genuine. It was also good that many of the staff spoke good English as my Japanese is very limited.

We’re from Canada and I brought my Brazilian roomie with me to visit my home country. I truly liked the hot spring and how it’s not a “too touristy” location. We were there in the holiday season but because it’s a hidden jem Ryokan, we were able to have both the “daiyokujo” and “Roten buro” all to ourselves (we did go late at night and early morning). They also have 24h ashiyu (foot hot tub) which was super awesome. I had beer while planning for the next day and just chilled there all by myself for an hr.

Guests can use the hot spring bath and the spa facilities, or enjoy mountain views. As a cabin crew, I'm used to travel and go to different hôtels around the world 20 nights per months.. From 1 to 5 stars, so far this one is one of the best I went to. Staff are respectful and kind, making you feel peaceful and at home. They immediately do the task when you ask so you don't have to wait to have the onsen at a higher temperature for exemple. In 1 min it's done and someone is coming. This is very appreciable. They come to pick you up at the bus station. You have a welcoming drink of your choice. Place is amazing, in the forest. You really feel like a peaceful atmosphère. There are everything you need in the room like dyson hairdryer, scrunchie, face cream and cleaning... Plus Staff are so dedicated that pyjamas and shoes for outside and inside are also choose in your size. (Depending female and male). I like the detail-oriented and this hôtel is very good in it. The appartement is comfy and cosy. 4 stars hôtel so far.

Our room and futons were very comfy and spacious for 2 people, and we liked that it provided us with a private toilet. Showers are communal sento style. It is a classic ryokan with yukata provided. Our menu had wagyu beef and a few pieces of super fresh sashimi, which were extremely delicious, and it was very filling. Overall, we had a great time here, and the surroundings were beautiful!
It was an original ryokan work onsen that provided dinner and breakfast, we wanted to try something really Japanese. I loved the onsen both private and public. The room is spacious with tatami.
sleeping in a ryokan is a great experience on its own and I am happy I did it. I didn't expect not to find the bed which is made by the personal just after dinner and removed before breakfast. I thought the room had a onsen inside because I got the room with bathtub but it's actually just a bathtub and to enjoy the onsen you need to go to the 6th floor where there are both public and private ones. I loved the traditional breakfast <3
Staying in a traditional ryokan was a treat. We really enjoyed the rooms, with tatami mats and windows overlooking beautiful greenery. The futons were really comfortable and our room had its own onsen, which was fabulous. The evening meals were extraordinary. Beautifully presented, with numerous delicious dishes. If anything there was too much food. The breakfast too was very lavish.
The staff has been very welcoming and attended to all our needs. The private onsen is worth a visit and the privacy was much appreciated. Futons were some of the best ones we've experienced on our trip. Room size was more than adequate and the interior (tatamis, bathroom, seating arrangement) on point. The provided Yukatas were decent. The hotel's location is a good base to explore Mt Fuji, the botanical gardens (pref. late spring), local hikes and the temple close by (look for the buddha statues).
We had such a fantastic experience during our stay at Ajisai and loved walking around in the supplied Yukatas! We really enjoyed the private onsen which we definitely made use of with our family, and the futon bed was extremely comfortable. Just note that it is a fair walk (especially if you have luggage), so best to take a taxi from Gora Station to get to the Ryokan.
Beautiful Japanese ryokan in a magical setting. The multi-course kaseiki dinner and traditional breakfast were superb, with all the dishes impeccably presented and absolutely delicious. Our lovely hostess, Kyoko, graciously served us and patiently explained every dish using goggle translate. The onsens had great district views and we emerged from the hot spring water feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. We would love to come back here again!
Amazing facilities. You get to experience a lot as you get complementary yukatas and access to an amazing onsen. The rooms are very well furnished and the tatami mats and futons are a must experience
The traditional Ryokan was what we searched for and we were happy to receive the full experience with yukata's and futons. We had a personal toilet for the room (not in the room itself but we expected a shared one) And we were lucky with the onsens as we could use them both times by ourselves. The food was delicious and a good introduction to traditional Japanese food
A very traditional Japanese inn (ryokan). The outdoor hot spring (onsen) is fabulous. The food quality in the restaurant is very high at this price range. The staff is very friendly and they can speak English well.
