Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Only issue we had was the room was very dark, we had to have all the lights on at all times when not sleeping. There was no view in the room but we hadn't asked for one so can't complain
Great location, only a 15/20 min walk from times square and a stones throw from a great bagel shop. Everyone was super friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The room was a very good size and very quiet, I would happily stay there again.

I like everything.
The hotel is pretty central in the city and it took about 8 mins to walk to Times Square. It was also a block away from the train line and 3-4 blocks from grand central. The hotel was very clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was incredibly spacious for a room in New York. It was a regular hotel room size!

I found the staff to be very accommodating. The room was very clean & well appointed with all creature comforts. Also, the hotel was very well located for my purposes.

It would be great to have a breakfast option at the hotel.
Great location in Midtown East, very close to major landmarks and places of interest for visitors and tourists. Room was very nice and clean. Loved the coffee/tea bar. Several metro stations were close, they had a business lounge and gym.

Furniture and decor dated and a little shabby. Rooms also a bit dark.

Low Shower Pressure :(
Great location, central to transport and close to shopping, theater and restaurants. Room was also on the larger size for New York hotels. Nice size bathroom with lots of counter space and Aveda toiletries. Best part was the bed - so comfy! I like firmer beds but this was the right combo of soft and supportive.

There was quite simply nothing that I didn't like.
Entering the hotel, I immediately liked the peaceful, quiet space. There was a simple but very nice area where some of my family sat waiting for me. The room was very spacious. It was nicely appointed with very comfortable beds and good quality bed linens and bath towels and products. The room was quiet and had good blackout shades.

The decor and furniture was a bit outdated. Large wardrobe, but only 5 coat hangers, sockets a bit wanky. Not enough sockets near the bed. Shower in the bath. Small waste bins.
Comfy beds. Small pantry with microwave and fridge. Generous amount of towels.

Bath /shower towels should not be changed every day. Also, there is no need to turn on a conditioner when no one is in a room (we could open windows/ventilate the room when we were back)
Very polite staff, good location, clean rooms and facilities. There are a lot of nice restaurants around the hotel. Many landmarks are within walking distance.

I hated that every hour or so, the key fob device would make noise as it was calibrating or something. Made me feel a bit insecure. But I had a handy additional lock so I could sleep at night without thinking someone was coming in my room.
The staff were friendly. The beds were comfy and clean and the noise level was minimal. Housekeeping was sweet and made sure I had extra things if I needed it.
