To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaI missed having the opportunity to walk along the boardwalk and see the sights. I also didnt like that you had to take a shuttle bus from LAX to catch an UBER - it meant that I spent more time on a bus than I would have transferring directly to the hotel. This is not the hotels fault.
The hotel seemed fantastic - unfortunately due to flight delays and a very early departure, I had very little time at the hotel but the room was very spacious and I believe would be a great spot to hang out for a couple of days.

Breakfast has changed since Covid. Now they serve individual servings of hot food in single serving packages. I didn't try then but stuck to the oatmeal + fixings, which was good.

United KingdomCar parking fee's are high, but no different to other similar hotels in Los Angeles. Hotel reception staff and restaurant front desk were not particularly welcoming. These are minor complaints that make this a good hotel, rather than a great one.
Fantastic location on the marina overlooking boats and yachts. Room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Restaurant menu was interesting, food served was great and service in the restaurant was good.

PortugalSome of the staff was not so nice and seemed unprepared, namely the younger staff. Clearly in need of some trainning for customer service. On the other hand some of the more senior staff were quite nice, we got a lady at reception on our check out that was extremely nice. Our room was on the groundfloor and so we had a view to the vallet parking which was not the great. The breakfast was ok but lacked bread and some muffins.
The room was excellent. We stayed in a studio which had lots of space for 2 persons with a sofa and a small kitchen. The room was very clean and everything new. The breakfast was Ok though not fantastic. The bed was also extremely comfortable.
