It was a very clean and comfortable place that we would definitely stay at again. We would very much recommend it!

Located 14 km from Oudtshoorn, De Opstal Country Lodge offers accommodation in a restored farm building, originally built in 1860. As soon as you drive into the De Opstal property you sense this is a different kind of place. The owners don’t just DO hospitality as a means to an end; they ARE hospitality embodied. It feels like it’s their life’s mission. De Opstal’s old charm accommodations are surrounded by magnificent flower gardens, fruit trees, and fields that are not over-manicured, rather reflective of the owners’ true love of nature and deep desire to create an environment for their guests that engages all their senses. The only downside was having to leave this slice of paradise.

Beautiful Hotel situated in De Rust. Fantastic location, and excellent hosts. Room is neat with new towels and clean linen. Staying in this Hotel takes you back to the good old days, with modern luxuries you would expect such as good Wifi and an air-con in some of the rooms. Safe and secure parking behind a locked gate. We stayed over during the Meiringspoort Challenge, and the host arranged for us to keep our bicycles safely locked in the dining room of the Hotel. Breakfast included a race-pack for the mountain bikers, and the next morning we had a delicious breakfast with eggs, bacon, a hash brown and toast, together with a nice cup of coffee.

Located 500 metres from Swartberg Pass, Swartberg Pass Cottages is set in Matjiesrivier and features barbecue facilities and a garden. The Cango Caves are within 13 km of the property. Absolutely everything was perfect. A little gem! We ordered a braaipack in advance. It contained so much more than expected. In addition to the meat, there was roosterkoek, jam, salad, pumpkin fritters and more. The rooms and beds were super comfortable. The kitchen had every utensil we needed and fresh drinkwater was supplied. The Swartberg Mountains around us were breathtaking. We loved our stay. It was booked for a stay-over location close to the Cango Caves but we will be back for a longer stay at some stage to explore the area further.

Oudtshoorn Inn Hotel is located in the heart of Oudtshoorn, 2.5 kilometres from the Cango Wildlife Ranch. It boasts a lush garden and outdoor swimming pool. Very friendly staff. Went out if their way to accommodate us.
