Providing inner courtyard views, Taquile Hospedaje Mario in Huillanopampa offers accommodation and a garden. With garden views, this accommodation features a patio. We had such a great time with Mario and Julia, and our stay at Isla Taquile wouldn't have been nearly as good without their company. Mario greeted us at the port when we arrived, and later in the day showed us around the island, explaining about inca ruins and answering all our questions about the culture and lifestyle of the people living on the island. Our room was clean and comfortable with many blankets, a table and chairs, and electric outlets (although Mario said only some of the rooms have this as of today). The shower was hot and Julia cooked us delicious food for dinner (additional cost) and breakfast (included in the booking). We also got to see a weaving demonstration by Julia, and bought some beautiful homemade textile crafts from them. There was spotty Entel reception on some parts of the island, but not in the village/accommodation; apparently Bitel works better on the island, but we didn't try it ourselves. We drank the water from the tank at their place with no issue, but they have boiled drinking water for guests if needed. I'd say some knowledge of Spanish is an advantage to get the most out of a stay here, as Mario and Julia speak Spanish and Quechua but not English. All in all an excellent way to get to experience the island and its culture!

Located 4 blocks from the main square, Taquile Familia Celso offers accommodations in Quinuapata. A complimentary breakfast is served daily. Rooms here are fitted with shared bathroom facilities. Very warm welcome from Juana and Celso. Nice and cosy place to stay and chill. Celso will guide you to the best spots of taquile island from Pachamama temple, inca ruins, best sunset spot, to playa. They are great host with big heart. I truly recommend staying with them. They will tell you everything about island history, tradition, and more! Just remember not taking all your luggage with you ...cause the island is hilly and the hike can be a bit challenging with heavy bags.

Edwin was super helpful and caring so I could arrive the accomodation without any problem. Views were astonishing and the peace was out of this world. Food was nice too. They gave me a better room than the one I booked because they had it free for that night.

I'm genuinely happy to have spent some time at Ines and Felipe's. Everyone is super kind and we had the luck of being there while the family cooked for other community members and hosted a session of Easter chants, to which we have been allowed to take part. It was one of our most beautiful places in Peru. I really recommend to stay in this house on the island and not only for one night. ;) The food was great, the view from our room amd from the garden was amazing and Edwin with his family is really nice host. The island has a specific energy, what we really enjoyed. It is very calm and clean there. One day I will come back to spend a couple of days in this wonderfull place. Thank you very much!

Featuring lake views, Richar’s home - experience Amantani with my family in Amantani features accommodation and a garden. Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Inca lodge - Amantani is located 37 km from Puno Port in Amantani island. Featuring a restaurant, the property also has a terrace. Every room includes a balcony. This place is just beautiful. Amazing view of the lake, especially at sunrise. Great food with most ingredients coming from their own garden or friends and family on the island. And most importantly the hosts are just the most amazing family, always friendly and with love in their eyes. Also they're really good at communicating with people like me that speak only un poquito español. The position of the place on Google maps is off by 200m or so which can make it hard to find, so in case they haven't fixed it yet, here's the correct coordinates: 15°40'10.4"S 69°42'24.7"W

Featuring a bar, Posada de Oliver features accommodation in Llachon. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. This was a perfect stay. Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing.
