We had such a great time with Mario and Julia, and our stay at Isla Taquile wouldn't have been nearly as good without their company. Mario greeted us at the port when we arrived, and later in the day showed us around the island, explaining about inca ruins and answering all our questions about the culture and lifestyle of the people living on the island. Our room was clean and comfortable with many blankets, a table and chairs, and electric outlets (although Mario said only some of the rooms have this as of today). The shower was hot and Julia cooked us delicious food for dinner (additional cost) and breakfast (included in the booking). We also got to see a weaving demonstration by Julia, and bought some beautiful homemade textile crafts from them. There was spotty Entel reception on some parts of the island, but not in the village/accommodation; apparently Bitel works better on the island, but we didn't try it ourselves. We drank the water from the tank at their place with no issue, but they have boiled drinking water for guests if needed. I'd say some knowledge of Spanish is an advantage to get the most out of a stay here, as Mario and Julia speak Spanish and Quechua but not English. All in all an excellent way to get to experience the island and its culture!

Very warm welcome from Juana and Celso. Nice and cosy place to stay and chill. Celso will guide you to the best spots of taquile island from Pachamama temple, inca ruins, best sunset spot, to playa. They are great host with big heart. I truly recommend staying with them. They will tell you everything about island history, tradition, and more! Just remember not taking all your luggage with you ...cause the island is hilly and the hike can be a bit challenging with heavy bags.

WHITE SAND Taquile Lodge ligger i Huillanopampa på øen Taquile og har terrasse og bjergudsigt. Denne feriebolig har balkon med udsigt over søen. Gæsterne kan benytte haven. Rygning er ikke tilladt. Edwin was super helpful and caring so I could arrive the accomodation without any problem. Views were astonishing and the peace was out of this world. Food was nice too. They gave me a better room than the one I booked because they had it free for that night.

Taquile Sumaq Wasi - Casa de Felipe e Ines ligger i Huillanopampa på øen Taquile og har have. Ejendommen har udsigt over søen. I'm genuinely happy to have spent some time at Ines and Felipe's. Everyone is super kind and we had the luck of being there while the family cooked for other community members and hosted a session of Easter chants, to which we have been allowed to take part. It was one of our most beautiful places in Peru. I really recommend to stay in this house on the island and not only for one night. ;) The food was great, the view from our room amd from the garden was amazing and Edwin with his family is really nice host. The island has a specific energy, what we really enjoyed. It is very calm and clean there. One day I will come back to spend a couple of days in this wonderfull place. Thank you very much!

Der tilbydes bagageopbevaring, restaurant og udendørs pejs. the best home I stayed during my trip in Peru Richar and his family are all so so friendly and warm. Richar‘s wife(Lucrecia) is the best. She always smile and she cooks the best food. During my stay, I also get to dress up in local dress and go to the community dancing party, it was so fun! About the room-you will have the most beautiful view, from the window. Don’t miss everyday morning sunrise. (You can literally watching sunrise in bed) And in the night, you can see the stars and Milky Way with naked eyes. the bed is super comfy, I had the best sleep during my trip in Peru. And they also have toilet can flash, even has hot showers! I didn’t expect there will be hot showers. That’s rare in this island. As a female solo traveler, I feel 100% safe here, I don’t even lock my door, not at all. That’s how I feel about the stay.

Inca lodge - Antantani ligger 37 km fra Puno Havn på øen Amantani. Ejendommen har restaurant og terrasse. Samtlige værelser har balkon. Gæsterne på hotellet kan nyde amerikansk morgenmad. This place is just beautiful. Amazing view of the lake, especially at sunrise. Great food with most ingredients coming from their own garden or friends and family on the island. And most importantly the hosts are just the most amazing family, always friendly and with love in their eyes. Also they're really good at communicating with people like me that speak only un poquito español. The position of the place on Google maps is off by 200m or so which can make it hard to find, so in case they haven't fixed it yet, here's the correct coordinates: 15°40'10.4"S 69°42'24.7"W

Posada de Oliver ligger i Llachon og har bar. Dette overnatningssted ved stranden har gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering. This was a perfect stay. Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing. Nothing could have been better. Thank you Oliver, Sebastiana, Diana and little Adele.
