The character of the place was great, having kept the vault door in the bedroom made it really unique. The decor in the lobby and the historical artefacts of Oamaru was really interesting. The breakfast concept also suited us very well. All in all, it’s a very well designed boutique hotel with very nice and attentive staff. Definitely worth the stop.

The Heritage Gateway Hotel is situated in Omarama, at the crossroads of MacKenzie Basin, Lindis Pass and Waitaki Valley. It offers panoramic views and excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Hot breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip to New Zealand. Can’t say enough how great the staff was!

Century House B & B flatlette har utsikt över bergen och erbjuder boende med en terrass och en uteplats, 35 km från Moeraki Boulders. This property had everything on offer. It was so well thought out. Dawn had really put herself into her guests shoes and thought if every comfort one could possibly want. My family only had one night but we had such a happy stay, especially compared to places we have stayed in on our onward travel. We couldn’t believe just how spacious the house was upstairs. The bathroom was new and beds very comfortable. We would definitely recommend others to stay here. Thank you Dawn, you were an amazing host.

My daughter & I decided to stay overnight at Oamaru before continuing our road trip to Christchurch. We got the ground floor 2-bedrooms unit of this restored heritage building. The parking is just outside the main door, so convenient for us. There was another unit upstairs via the staircase at the side The place is a treasure! It looks like a remnant of time past by yet the interior is stunningly decorated (those amazing chandeliers for central lighting) & furniture feels so richly luxurious. I love the unit layout & each bedroom is ensuite. The kitchen has everything you need for simple cooking. After days of travelling, we needed laundry facility. The shared laundry is locked, just steps away behind the building. We called Katrina to get the access code & she promptly picked up the call. Both washing machine & dryer were easy to use. Cool! Bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Rooms have heaters that we appreciated as we were still not used to the cold'ish summer weather..

Our hosts, Jacqui and Niel were very welcoming and helpful. Our room and all the facilities were very comfortable, clean and spacious. The little personal touches and general attention to detail add to the lovely ambience. Great location and on-site parking - everything the town has to offer is within walking distance.
