The facility was clean and well kept and the breakfast was delicious, we had so much food!

Situated in Dickwella, a few steps from Dickwella Beach, Smeralda Beach Hotel Dikwella features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant. We were recommended to stay at Smeralda by a Colombo-based friend. This property was recently renovated so everything looks new and well maintained. It is run by an Italian ex-luxury hoteleir and you can see he brings some of his previous experience into Smeralda. There are 8 rooms all ocean facing, a beach side pool with direct access to a clean sandy beach, and a restaurant serving not just any Italian food, but the absolute BEST you'll have anywhere in Sri Lanka. We celebrated my wife's birthday and they proactively decorated the room and reserved dinner on the night of. The staff is very friendly and well-trained. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. The shower water pressure is just fine. Iana, the manager, took very good care of us and Andre, the owner, was generous and sociable. Location wise, you are 10-15 minutes by tuktuk to Hirikiteya beach (busy) and about an hour from Weligama/Mirissa. We will definitely be back.

Clean, modern and lovely rooms located in a beautiful garden. The beds were super comfortable. We loved the location, very close to the beach and restaurants. The staff was super friendly, helped us organizing anything we needed, for example massage or laundry service. The breakfast was very tasty. It was one of our best stays during our entire holiday in Sri Lanka and we were so sad to leave!

Was greeted warmly by the staff when we arrived and even had coconuts to enjoy which was wonderful - especially after roughing it the 2 days before in Yala. The room itself was lovely, clean and had a great view of the ocean. The shower was wonderful (and not just because I hadn't showered on safari). Ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Had to leave early to catch a train and the team was so helpful for us - coordinating a tuk tuk at 5am and even packing breakfast for us to enjoy on the train (and it was wonderful).
