It is very new and opened in oct’23. The floor is tatami all around from the entrance to the lifts, hallway, and room. hotel wear was so comfortable too! I particularly enjoyed the private and public baths that you can use and the free ice cream/drink that’s offered. There’s a karaoke room that’s 1,000yen per hour too. Massage chair was ok there’s 3 units. Not too difficult to figure out if you use google translate camera to help you. The staff were extremely friendly and could speak English. Breakfast was 2,800yen - yes pricey but they’ve got a wide spread of buffet.

Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

ook al regende het een paar dagen tijdens mijn verblijf ik kon me prima vermaken in de departmentstores en er was achter het station ook een anime en manga museum met de eerste 3 a 4 verdiepingen met allemaal manga's en anime en al de dingen die er omheen gaan. prima tijd verdrijf voor als het een dag regent, als het goed weer is ken je shoppen in het centrum en een bezoekje doen aan het kitakyushu kasteel met de tuin die er omheen ligt.

Het was een prachtig verblijf voor een goede prijs. De omgeving is erg rustig, maar ik weet niet of dat normaal is of omdat er gewoon minder mensen op reis gaan vanwege de aardbeving van 2 maanden geleden. Om daar even een opmerking over te maken, reizen in Kumamoto en Kurokawa is compleet veilig. Voor touristen is er niets aan de hand, de enigen die het zwaar hebben zijn de locals. Mocht iemand twijfelen wegens de aardbevingen dan zou ik graag willen zeggen : Laat je niet tegenhouden! Ik ben in totaal meer dan anderhalve week in Kyushu geweest en geen enkele aardbeving gevoeld.

Fukuoka was my gateway to Kyushu, and is great to spend a couple of days. Relaxed people in this big coastal city with a small city feel. Most downtown sightseeing areas are quite walkable (unlike Kyoto/Tokyo/Osaka/Nagoya), and there's a 100yen loop bus which is a cheap way to tackle the longer stretches (there's of course also a decent metro system). Found the castle ruins to be quite unique, they leave a lot to the imagination.

De grootste vissershaven van Kyushu. Mooie natuur en zandstrandjes. Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame lokale bevolking. Beperkt aantal restaurants in de omgeving. Voedsel bestaat voornamelijk uit vis en zeevruchten. Munakata Shrine is indrukwekkend. Beperkt openbaar vervoer; zonder auto is het moeilijk verplaatsen.
