The property is right on lake Myvatn, which is good and bad. When the wind blows you can take nice walks around the lake. And this is a remote place so the hotel was quiet day and night for our visit. The bad news is the the midge flies swarm outside when it’s calm outside. The flies don’t swarm inside the hotel, if they do get inside the window they stay in the window. The restaurant on site is nice, and we loved our included breakfast each day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Homemade ice cream sold next door is amazing!

An excellent place to stay next to Lake Myvatn. Located close to Hverir geothermal area and Myvatn Nature Baths (well worth a visit). The restaurant here is superb and the buffet breakfast the best we had in Iceland with meats and cheeses etc. from the farm (there is a very strong farm to plate ethic going on here). The room itself was well sized but cozy and warm (it was minus 13 in the morning so this was important!). Plus you can go and pet the cows and calves!

This hotel was very modern and stylish and was in a great location for visiting the Lake Myvatn sites. We loved the free parking, hot tubs in the courtyard, and the beautiful shower in the room with the heated towel bar (perfect for drying bathing suits quickly too!). We ate dinner at the restaurant right next door (Gammi Baerinn) and thought it was really good.

The room was comfortable and really clean. There were shared showers/toilets but the room had a sink inside which was a plus. The breakfast was delicious, with a very nice view of the fields. 20min by car from Lake Myvatn. One can also buy pretty Icelandic sweaters there in a decent price compared to shops in Reykjavik or Akureyri.

Central location at lake Myvatn. Proper rooms with bath and comfortable bed. We were here in August, so there were thousands of flies and mosquitos which dont bite, so its just a little bit stressful when they invade your head. :) Nothing to do with the guesthouse, just consider this at that time of the year.

Comfortable but small room, large en suite bathroom with heated floor. Excellent location for Lake Myvatn - short drive to all key sites including Myvatn baths, Hverir etc. Close to supermarket, petrol station, pizza and more formal restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out with self use codes.

Absolutely superb hotel. We had a room on the top floor with superb views over Lake Myvatn. Excellent restaurant. Friendly efficient staff. I could not fault this hotel, the best hotel I have stayed in in Iceland.

Very nice and modern hotel close to the lake Myvatn. The rooms were tidy and clean, restaurant food was delicious.

Mývatn trout and lava bread for breakfast. Location is very central at lake Mývatn.

Great place to hunt for northern lights. Cosy room, although very small. Super hot radiators, which in winter saved our life :). Although the breakfast is in the village, there was a common room opposite our building where there were tables and all necessary kitchen facilities to prepare your own meal or something hot to drink. Very well equipped. We came late at night, the reception was closed, but the room key was left for us plus directions to the room. Breakfast in the village restaurant very nice. The place is right behind the post office (google maps show you a route round the whole village, don't know why).

We had a good apartment for three persons: one big room with a double bed, a smaller room with two beds and a private toilet&bathroom. The breakfast was included, too. It was a good place to investigate Myvatn lake area.

Great breakfast. Lava bread was different. The host was really accommodating and so kind. They made me an early breakfast package due to my early departure. There's a grocery store, gas station, and fish n chips place nearby.
