Nel fiume Río Dulce, vicino a un castello del XVI secolo, la penisola del Tortugal Boutique River Lodge è bagnata quasi costantemente da brezze balneari che creano un luogo fresco e rinfrescante. What did we like? All of it! The rooms are tastefully decorated. They were very comfy, despite being in the middle of nature. Attentive staff, picked us up to and fro Rio Dulce. Good food, cold beers. Very refreshing to be able to jump in the river when hot!

El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. TLDR: Go there. The best advice I saw in the reviews was to book one more night the you planned to. I wish I could give more than 10, because this place is truly amazing. You understand you're in heaven the moment you step off the boat. The surroundings are incredible, the rooms are comfortable (even hot-ish water in the shower), the meals are big and delicious, and Tim, Alejandra and the whole staff are helpful (from activities, advice, and transportation to anywhere when leaving). I was surprised by how many things you could do in the area. I thought we will mostly be stuck in the hotel (not a bad thing with this one) reading books and swimming in the river, but eventually we had ourself an awesome schedule that is possible thanks to the transformation and guides (and kayaks) the hostel offer, and actually had to decide between activities because we didn't have time to do them all in our 3 nights stay. Also, the chocolate is amazing and so is the massage. It seemed to me like the place is truly doing a good job in being an eco-hotel so also thumbs up for that. I contemplated a lot about visiting Rio Dulce area, and after not meeting anyone planning to go there throughout our whole trip, I started regretting my decision to come. I'm so happy we eventually decided to go because it was one of our favorite places in Guatemala (maybe the favorite).

Set in Puerto Barrios, Hotel Posada Stella Maris offers 5-star accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Set in Izabal, 45 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Situato a Livingston, il Livingston Resort Hotel offre un ristorante, una piscina all'aperto, un bar e un giardino. La struttura vanta camere familiari e una terrazza solarium. Piscina anche se non indispensabile per me, apprezzata. Ambienti e spazi esterni grandi e piacevoli. Sistema di sicurezza per entrare e uscire, guardiano notturno

Situato a Lívingston, il Casa Nostra offre un ristorante, biciclette gratuite, un bar e un salone in comune. Camera bella, grande e pulitissima, con affaccio sul terrazzo condiviso con vista porticciolo, meraviglioso e tranquillo. Il bagno in comune è stato pulito più volte al giorno, anche se purtroppo sono capitata in un periodo in cui c'erano alcuni ragazzi che sono stati male, quindi lo hanno sporcato spesso e lo occupavano di continuo. Bella la possibilità di usufruire di una piscina dall'altra parte del paese, anche se non sono andata. Personale molto gentile, soprattutto il gestore, che mi ha aiutata a organizzare ogni spostamento successivo con estrema gentilezza e disponibilità. Cibo buonissimo, il loro tapado il migliore assaggiato nei miei giorni di soggiorno.

L'Hotel Kangaroo. Situato a Rio Dulce, il Las Mexicanas offre un ristorante, un bar, un salone in comune e un giardino. La struttura vanta camere familiari e una terrazza solarium. se ci fossero state 100 stelle da dare, non sarebbero bastate.. location fantastica, camere bellissime, cibo ottimo, personale molto attento ad ogni richiesta.... Eduardo in particolare, simpatico attento ed estremamente di compagnia... nei prossimi mesi torneremo a rio dulce e torneremo sicuramente in questo hotel

Situato a Lívingston, a 2,3 km dalla spiaggia di Ribera Rio Dulce, l'Hotel La Casa Rosada offre un ristorante, un bar, un giardino e la connessione WiFi gratuita. one of the best places in Guatemala amazing food nice stuff great vibe highly recommended

Situato a Puerto Barrios, l'Hotel El Reformador offre un bar, un giardino e una terrazza. It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.
