Helpful, welcoming hosts, even though we arrived really early because we wanted to drop off our luggage on our way to a wedding. They were very accommodating and made it all very easy. The hot choices were very good and cooked to perfection. We loved the staff. They were all wonderful esp Jules, Freya, Lucy, Charlie. Dinner was superb. The fish n chips were an A+++ and we are from New England. The hotel is so steeped in unique history and each nook and crannies reflects this beauty. Our room ( #1)was fantastic.I The Secret Garden was indeed a lovely secret haven for afternoon tea.

Emily was amazing, so nice, genuine and lovely. We had a great one night stay. Food was perfect, complimentary tea and cake was such a nice touch too. We had the standard room and it was absolutely perfect. Great small touches as well. 100% recommend

Detta charmiga, tidstypiska hotell ligger i Bishops Hull i Taunton och är över 300 år gammalt. Hotellet ligger på en egen egendom, där du kan koppla av och njuta av utsikten. My father and I were visiting my son at the Taunton School. We selected Meryan House and were more than pleased. From the minute we entered we were warmly greeted by the Wife and Husband team. They were so nice, they made us feel like truelly welcome guests. The Inn itself is oozing with character, history and comfort. Each room has its own character, dating back hundreds of years but updated with all the modern comforts. Downstairs the breakfast/dinning room has an ancient hearth. The living room is a nice place to gather and we had a drink at the bar with fellow travellers. The breakfast is classic English and delicious. I will being visiting Taunton again and will certainly choose to stay here.
