Literally this was one of the most fantastic hotel stays in my life; though I’ve traveled a lot, everything was exceptional and I would highly recommend it for everyone especially families 🤍
The Merryburn - Rooms and Courtyard Studios

The Merryburn - Rooms and Courtyard Studios is a few minutes' walk from Dunkeld and Birnam Railway Station at the gateway to the Highlands and is a listed Victorian building. What a superb stay: it really exceeded our expectations! The rooms were not only comfortable and cozy but also very beautiful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, and the shower worked well. Even though we didn´t see the host, a letter had been left for us and it made us feel truly welcome. In addition, we would like to mention that Dunkeld is a beautiful place to explore by walking around, dining in restaurants, and visiting beautiful art galleries. Furthermore, a sublime bookstore with a remarkably well-chosen collection of books was literally next door – the place is called The Birnam Reader Bookshop and should be on every booklover's pocketlist.

Situated in 1.5 acres of elevated grounds, 'Knockendarroch Hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from Pitlochry town centre. The hotel is located on top of the hill of the beautiful town of Pitlochry. We stayed at the attic room, which is big, brighty and with views to the mountains. Everything was perfect: king size and comfortable bed and a little space with sofa and table. We liked the most the big salon on the ground floor of the house with its chimney and chesters, where you can relax just reading or drinking something before the dinner. The breakfast was superb, served on the restaurant, quiet and with nice views to the gardens. We stayed there only for one night in our way to Isle of Skye, but we have liked to have spent more time there!

Set 10 km from Castle Menzies, The Grandtully Hotel offers 4-star accommodation in Grandtully and has a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. Lovely little hotel in quiet Grandtully. We enjoyed the food and stay at this small inn, and walked one afternoon along the river bank to the next town as well as visited (the outside at least - as it was closed until 2 PM) the nearby Menzies Castle.
Dunfallandy House Hotel

Situated in Pitlochry, 22 km from Castle Menzies, Dunfallandy House Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. It was easy to get to and away from the crush of people in busy Pitlochry. There was a very evident personal touch from the staff, who were friendly and made sure we were very comfortable. Breakfast was good (great coffee!) and hot. The house itself was nicely appointed and comfortable - didn’t leave one feeling like you shouldn’t touch anything because it is precious.

Located in Pitlochry, 32 km from Castle Menzies, Killiecrankie House provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. This was the most personable accomodation that anyone could wish for. I was disappointed that I didn't book in for their 14 course tasting menu for the evening that we stayed there. We had a slightly early departure which they were more than happy to accomodate us with a very delightful & personal breakfast. The decor is delightful as are the owners & their staff.
