Chateau de Picomtal is set in a renovated 14th to 16th century castle overlooking the Serre-Ponçon lake, in the Hautes-Alpes. We had the most wonderful time staying in the Chateau. The Chateau has been restored and shows off stunning views and beautiful grounds and garden. The interior is simply beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and restored to a very high standard. The surrounding area is so incredibly beautiful. We had wonderful meals at a restaurant close by. This stay was probably one of the highlights of our 7 week trip around France.

Le Chalvet, located in Ecrins National Park, is a countryside hotel offering a garden and terrace with valley views. There are a range of comfortable guest rooms, some accommodating up to 4 guests. Copious breakfast laid out on the table for us, more than we could eat!

Located just 20 metres from Sere-Ponçon Lake, Hôtel Les Flots Bleus offers an outdoor swimming pool with a retractable roof, panoramic mountain views and a spa. Great barbecue restaurant in the hotel, where you grill your stuff yourself. Very friendly and helpful stuff, answers every question.

Hotel la Robeyere BW Signature Collection is set in an 18th century building in Embrun, 1.6 km from Serre-Ponçon Lake. The hotel offers free WiFi and an elegant décor. Stunning location and overall quality! Very friendly staff, very cozy and great food.

Les Peupliers is located in Baratier, a small village near Les Orres ski resort in the Hautes-Alpes. Guests have access to the outdoor swimming pool and spa with a hot tub, sauna and hammam. Excellent breakfast and dinner with a lot of local products served. We had a spacious superior room. I believe it was our third time here, will return!

Hôtel & Spa Ax Hôtel is located in Chorges in Hautes-Alpes, 15 km from Gap, an 8-minute drive from Lake Serre-Ponçon and at a 20-minute drive from Reallon Ski Resort and 38 km from Orcière. Pleasant room, good ensuite. Good swimming pool. Friendly staff. Food ok.

Hotel Le Lac is located in a peaceful setting, just outside the city centre of Embrun. It is close to a lake that has a beach and recreational area. Wonderful location super scenery food service and staff very good. Excellent breakfast best in my trip. Parking and easy to find. Would love to return and would definitely recommend to others
