Set in Feldberg, 40 km from Freiburg Cathedral, RotmeerHaus offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We had a fantastic stay at Rotmeerhaus. Michael not only went the extra mile when it came to his hospitality, he went beyond. We took the train from Freiburg to Feldberg Bärenthal -the highest train station in Germany- 967m above sea level. From the train station it took about a 15minute walk passing the Schnapps Museum and Lidl Supermarket. As we approached Rotmeerhause Michael and Lily (beautiful dog) welcomed us at the front door, and we were immediately offered a cup of (very good) coffee. The room was immaculate, and the bathroom spoke of German quality at the best. The breakfast was the same as you can expect on first class and possible a little more. We did a small hike up the mountain to Zweiseenblick in the morning, and Michael also let us know that we can check out after the hike. This is certainly not all the time possible, however in our case he offer us this gratitude. I think when you stay here, the place will remain in your memory for a long while. We can recommend Rotmeerhaus to anyone who would like to enjoy some peace and quiet, and enjoy the Schwarzwald nature.

I highly recommend it! Great place, very clean and decent size rooms. The owners are simply wonderful people. I hot ill during my stay in the hotel and they were great help. The owner even helped me to get my motorbike back on the trailer. Very nice breakfast and wonderful view on the mountains! I highly recomend.

Hotel Landgasthof zum Pflug is a family-run hotel, set 10 km away from Steinen. With a garden, the property also boasts on-site dining. Guests can enjoy mountain views. Superb stay. Friendly family run guesthouse. Beautifully situated, driving through the forest to get here. Beautiful views. Large clean spacious room leading to a large shared terrace that can be partitioned for privacy. Room no.4 had tea, coffee facilities, sofa and table and a large, clean bathroom. No fridge in the bedroom, but water and drinks available from shared fridge in the landing. A lovely touch when holidaying in Germany. Breakfast was delicious with choice of meats, cheese, jams, fresh bread rolls and juice, and their scrambled eggs were the best ever! Beautiful restaurant also for an evening meal. We had the steak, and their grilled meat plate. Homemade fries and more fresh vegetables would have been more appreciated on the plate rather than just shop bought fries. However the meat was perfectly cooked. Dessert was delicious. Great choice of wine available.
