Bloomfield Falls
Long before it was known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down in your 4x4 with a picnic basket to have lunch in serious style!

Must line up first thing in the morning.
Must line up first thing in the morning. Site opens at 8:00am, be there by 7:30 and you'll be the first one up. Head up the hill asap, you'll enjoy the sights with a few other people for 15mins before the crowds head up. Explore the other sites on your way down.

Wonderful attraction!
Wonderful attraction! I feel blessed to have the experience of seeing this! I went in January when the crowds are way less and a much better time for photos. Took about 2 hours to complete. The pathways can be a little slippery if it’s wet. Enjoy this wonder

Be sure to check that it is open when you intend to go.
Be sure to check that it is open when you intend to go. There was a strike on the day that we wanted to visit and no one was allowed to enter. It was a bit disappointing because it is a long walk up hill. (Fortunately, the strike was over by the next morning.)

Try not to go when the weather is very very hot, as it is very bright.Be sure to visit the wonderful museum which explains the history and decorations of this world famous building area,it is really special. The area round the Akropolis is pleasant with rocks, gardens paths and hills, almost like a little area of countryside. A good place to spend the day.

Fantastic and must see visit - suggest going to the Acropolis museum beforehand as it all makes much more sense then. Also to avoid massive queues, check if there are large cruise ships due in that day and choose another day. Book on line beforehand, but you must ensure you get an allocated time slot on your booking (otherwise you’ll queue again when you get there - a night mare!).

Nice apartment in a building next to the old Olympic stadium in the college area of Athens. About a 10 minute walk to Syntagma metro station and 15 minutes to the Acropolis. Never met the owner but very easy communication over WhatsApp. Got in late from Piraeus but had no problems getting in. Balcony overlooking courtyard with fresh lemons if you are willing to lean over the railing a bit. Lots of good places to eat and get groceries in the area but also lots of steps if you are walking. Great value for a two-bedroom apartment in Athens!
Great location, very near to Acropolis and Acropolis Museum and city center, in a new and modern apartment building with fully furnished apartments. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The building also has a rooftop terrace for guests, perfect for chilling.
The host and staff were incredibly kind and made our stay very pleasent: from early check-in to airport transfer arrangements, complimentary drinks, sweets and fruits and recommendations for Athens, they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.
Great location in central Athens. Easy walk to Acropolis. Very friendly and helpful staff. Not a big-box hotel … instead was a small number of spacious 1BR apts with separate livingroom, full kitchen, and full bath with laundry. Elevator. Classic building.
Beautiful and comfortable apartment that was perfect for our family of 4. It is homey and quiet. We stayed only one night, but wish we could have stayed longer—sadly it was our last full day in Greece. The location is excellent, in the heart of Plaka —a short walk to the Acropolis and the many other attractions in the area. The individuals who run it are extremely sweet and accommodating. They even let us check in hours early to make sure we were comfortable asap. We will certainly return if ever in Athens again. Highly recommended!
A great place to stay in with the kids. 2 bedrooms apart from other, large living room, kitchen with all facilities and 2 bathrooms. The apartment was renovated with high standards, the location is perfect, in the best neighborhood, minutes away from Acropolis and walking distance from everything. There is an elevator, although you'll need to take some steps to get there. I recommend it to any family traveling to Athens. The host is responsive and helpful.
Location, Location, Location! This is the perfect property to enjoy Athens. The apartment sits above a pedestrian area full of cafes and restaurants, shopping and more! The incredible view of the Acropolis from the roof or just sitting outside is amazing! Close to buses and across the street from a subway station.
The price was great, and the apartment was clean and functional. Plenty of towels and nice bedding. There is an outdoor space with a view of the sky. Not too far from downtown Athens - about 20 to 25 minutes walking distance to the city center, the Acropolis or Syntagma Square. Zoe was friendly over the phone.
The hostel was in an amazing location, close to the most important places worth visiting as a tourist. Staff was really nice also. The rooftop is a really great place to sit and watch the Acropolis Hill and Athens. My room had also its own small terrace, it was great to sit there as well.
The apartment is located in a decent neighborhood. I didn’t feel scare to walk around after dark. It’s also very near to the metro station with direct line to the airport and you can reach most of the popular destinations in Athens (e.g. the Acropolis) within 10min by the same metro line. The host was very responsive, nice and kind.
The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes away from the Acropolis. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable, clean, modern and it had a big balcony. Breakfast was amazing, a lot of options to choose from. Also, the view from the rooftop bar is amazing and guests get free welcoming drinks.
All in all, would recommend this hotel to everyone going to Athens!

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1
Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
