A great traditional guest house for travellers! The host is very kind, the place is beatiful and warm. There is a nice common area on the ground floor where you can eat and chat with other guests. The place is very clean. It is located in Samegai, which is a very small town, with no noise and very calm. Quite easy to reach Kyoto from here. Great place!

ゲストハウスでたらめ荘 has free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and bar in Yamakami. I had a really great time in this place, thanks to Konbu, Michi and Egosan who are amazing hosts. I was looking for a place to stay for a few days to do nothing but rest and this place was perfect. I really felt at home, the living room was my lair. There is a grocery store 15 minutes by walk but to be fair I didnt go there since you can ask Egosan to cook for you (1000 ¥/meal). And let me tell you that he is a great cook. On the first evening he asked me what is my favorite Japanese dish and he made it the following day ! Since I was the only customer during my stay we spend time together, they even bring me with them to go to a good local restaurant and then they surprised me by going to a bakery since I said I wanted to try Japanese dessert. Once again, I had a really great time !

There's also a kind of kitchen. Really confy beds too. The owner really friendly and English speaker. I really suggest if you want to visit hikone castle and relax

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour ici. L'auberge est très bien située pour visiter le vieux centre et le château. La quartier est très agréable. L'auberge en elle même est bien faite et jolie, il y a tout ce qu'il faut. La chambre est bien aménagée et permet à chacun d'avoir son propre espace. Nous n'avons pas beaucoup vu le gérant mais il répondait très rapidement à nos questions par message.

We loved how accomodating and nice the staff were they were always making sure the space/ our room was tidy and neat and provided us with fresh linen, towels and robes daily. They cooked us meals and treated us like family! The location is beautiful right on the lake with amazing sunrises and sunsets and just a short 10 minuet walk to the station or a 15 minuet walk to 711. We honestly can’t fault anything about this property and can’t wait to stay again!

C'est une petite auberge de jeunesse typique très calme et bien située pas loin de la gare. Les équipements sont mis à disposition des voyageurs qui sont totalement autonomes et tout est en très bon état. Il y a vraiment tout ce qu'il faut. Le propriétaire est très réactif s'il y a le moindre souci ou la moindre question. C'est vraiment propre et les lits sont super confortables et le dortoir est très spacieux et tout ouvert : parfait pour faire des rencontres :) l'espace commun aussi est grand et bien agencé. J'ai adoré mon séjour !!
