Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. Stayed in the four person dorm and it was quiet and spacious. The facilities are really great the kitchen was always clean. The front sitting areas look out on the lake. There was a clean grill to use for cooking as well which was a great perk.

Nice cozy cabin, right next to beach side, excellent star view at night.

Lovely clean simple accomodation in the middle of nowhere, but very handy for being closer to Milford Sound. A big thank you for the help we received to enable communication with the Milford cruise company to rearrange our cruise. Lovely little chalet that was clean and well equipped with stunning views up the Eglinton valley. I would love to go back there and spend longer exploring the area.
