Having stayed in most of the class hotels in Kathmandu in the past like Hilton , Yak & Yeti, Holiday inn etc., we would choose following four factors which are outclassed others and have excited us the most :
1. Excellent staff - Extra courteous , energetic, proactive and humble staff in front desk, restaurant and room services particularly we would like to specifically appreciate (whose names we remember) Ms. Priya, Mr.Bivek, Mr. Aman, Ms. Maujl apart from others (Whose name we do not remember),These are some of the gem of staff, who in our opinion an asset to the hotel.
2. Excellent Food-The Food in the restaurant is excellent and worth praising. The taste whether continental or Indian or local is quite tasty . We would specifically appreciate the services of Chef on duty on 21st May ,2024 night (The name we are forgetting)
3. Excellent Location- The location of the property is in Thamel ,the most happening place in Kathmandu The main market of Kathmandu is just few meters away.
4. Excellent Cleanliness- The rooms are quite clean and are by the staff at all times.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Oasis Kathmandu Hotel offers accommodation in Kathmandu.

We visited many places that allowed us to become acquainted with the local people, culture and customs, Buddhism, Hinduism, and the differences with the Western culture.
The people in Kathmandu and in general, in Nepal, are kind, accommodating, and humble.

Kathmandu is a very busy city.
Kathmandu is a very busy city. As it was our first time in Nepal, we decided to stay in Kathmandu instead of flying to other touristy places like Pokhara. And we didn't regret the decision. We enjoyed the trip and the overall experience was amazing. Hopefully we can go back there again and explore other cities. Nepal has a very rich history, it's amazing.

Stay away from Kathmandu especially Thamel if you can, it is...
Stay away from Kathmandu especially Thamel if you can, it is noisy, polluted, dirty. As pedestrian you share the narrow alleys with hundreds of Nepalese scooter and motorbikes riders, who drive dangerously passed you, without a care about your safety. I recommend to wear masks if you don't want your lung to be filled with hazardous smog. There is an app called AirVisual which tells you how bad the air quality is in and around Kathmandu. I recommend to stay as little in Kathmandu as possible, take a taxi or bus to Bhaktapur and use it as your base instead! It has beautiful sights of historical temples walking distance away, is less overrun by scooters and hotels are very nice and are cheaper, food is delicious: try the local highly praised juju dhau (yoghurt type dessert), souvenirs are higher quality and cheaper.
it was tucked back in a quieter alley which is quite the commodity in Kathmandu. We were able to easily walk throughout the Thamel and there were so many restaurant options close by. the provided breakfast is worth getting as it was hearty with lots of options. it was clean and the staff was helpful. we had a group member get sick and the other two of us were able to easily get another room for the night. they also had a laundry service that was very reasonable. hotel Jampa was a great value and I’d definitely stay there again.
Everything! This place is beautiful and positioned just outside of busy Thamel so you get peace at the end of the day. The family is lovely and especially like their friendly dog and rabbit. The hotel has beautiful art and is decorated beautifully. The room was big and had a beautiful feel about it! Loved my stay and will be back when I am in Kathmandu again! I was provided breakfast in my room every morning which was a lovely surprise. There are traditional Nepalese restaurants near by that are cheap and have good food.
The best airport hotel I have stayed at in Kathmandu. Standards were equivalent to western standard hotels and much better than other airport hotels I have stayed at in Kathmandu. The room was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Check in was smooth, the staff were very helpful, and I had a good quality meal on arrival. Very convenient location just 750kms from the airport - just 500 nepal rupees in a taxi or walkable if you don't have too much luggage.
Will definitely use this hotel next time I visit Kathmandu.
Flying Yak is absolutely wonderful! Thank you Raj, Santosh, Ravindra, and Vikas for your kindness during our stay in Thamel. Flying Yak is clean, in a fantastic location, and has staff that is always willing to and ready to help. Loved sitting on the roof and watching the sunset, and appreciated the $10 pickup from the airport as well. I look forward to returning to Kathmandu and staying at this fabulous hotel. Plus, they’ll store your gear for no cost when you’re out trekking!
We were coming from a very intense days and needed a place to rest and recharged, and this hotel was the best choice. Very comfortable and modern located in the center of Kathmandu. The room was very clean and the breakfast included very yummy. All the staff is very friendly, specially the owner! He helped us to sorted out everything we needed and even gave us a packed breakfast on the last day since we were leaving before the kitchen was open! I would definitely stay again 😊
Booking at this hotel was unplanned and very last minute for us. However, we were surprised by their warm hospitality and a free upgrade to one of their bigger rooms. Hotel is only walking distance to the Kathmandu Durbar square, Thamel shopping market and the best eateries. Owner Jayaram, Sandeep, Shanta and Thara ensured our stay was comfortable and safe. Breakfast spread is amazing with a lot options for fresh food to choose from. Very vibrant and lively location.
I've stayed several times in Thamel and there are a lot of hotels to choose from in a variety of budgets. I chose the Maya Boutique Hotel because of the location and price. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a decent size. I stayed initially for 4 nights and returned for another two after a short trip out of the city. One of the best thing about the hotel was the friendliness of the staff. Water, tea and coffee were available all day for no charge.
the location is perfect it's a quiet and peaceful street just 7/8 mins from thamel walking distance it's new hotel in kathmandu there room is very stylish like ibis style hotel there room view is really nice you can see city view recommend to stay top floor room staff are very nice and friendly always ready to help us best hotel in kathmandu I recommend it to everyone request please visit and see their room hope you love it
Hotel is in the middle of Thamel, but because of nice garden it looks like you’re in a peaceful place. The rooms are really big, clean and they have everything you need. The best of this hotel is their stuff. The day starts with delicious breakfast. All day cleaning the surrounding and inside the hotel. They also gives you everything you need anytime. They are all so kind that make your stay even more pleasant.
The manager and staff were very friendly. We got complimentary airport pickup which was very nice. The location of the hotel is also good according to price. The rooms and toilets were very clean. All the Thamel restaurants and bars were in walking distance. It was our first time in Kathmandu and they also booked tickets for our bus to Pokhara. Couldn’t ask for more from the hotel.
It's a great hotel. It's a maximum of 5 minutes walk to any place in Thamel. But avoided the main problem of this area- noise. The hotel is a bit far from the road, so absolutely quiet, even if you sleep with the open windows.
The staff is excellent, the quality of the hotel at a solid 4*
It's probably one of the best choices for Tamel.
nice hotel, staff is very warm and welcoming (although all Nepalese people are :) ), location is amazing - quiet street in thamel, but 100m walking to the center and all the mess of Kathmandu. Not really a realistic rating, but comparing to the other stays in Nepal (we spent a month there) one of the best.
Beautiful view from hotel room and roof.View from roof 360 D. Felt like my second home .Friendly staff. WIFI is fast as well .Best location for Thamel ,Kathmandu dubar square and Swyambhu stupa (monkey temple also called).
affordable price go stupa view inn .
Great modern hotel in Thamel. Best accomodation we had in Nepal. Clean and spacious rooms with very comfortable beds and smart TV. Staff is super nice and friendly. Exceptionally good breakfast. Highly recommended.
The staff was very attentive and rooms were neat and clean as shown in pictures. They serve amazing breakfast in morning with a live counter. The hotel is located in the heart of Kathmandu, which is Thamel.
The hotel was so pleasent and calm. It is situated in thamel area which is very helpful for marketing and very near to all. Owner keshav ji & all of the staff are very friendly. Best hotel to stay.
Perfect hotel in Kathmandu if you are planning a vacation in Nepal. Hotel management were really helpful in planning and organizing the trekking. Great location for a hotel in Thamel area.
The hotel manger very helpful and staff are friendship. Rooms are clean , warm water was nice ,wifi,tv, toilet all are the working best budget hotel in center of thamel.
The open space with garden and trees attracted me the most. 360 degree view of Kathmandu valley from the rooftop was another fascinating factor of the hotel.
