I am using Serena for my stays in Nairobi since 1999. It is still the best hotel for me but unfortunately the professionalism and service has gone down a little bit.

Nairobi offers an exciting blend of adventure, culture, and urban charm. The city is a gateway to thrilling wildlife experiences, with the Nairobi National Park providing a rare opportunity to see, giraffes, and rhinos against a backdrop of skyscrapers. The Giraffe Centre allow for intimate encounters with giraffes. Nairobi's rich cultural heritage is showcased in attractions like the Karen Blixen Museum and the Nairobi National Museum. The bustling Maasai Market is perfect for shopping for local crafts and souvenirs. Culinary delights abound, from street food stalls to high-end restaurants offering both local and international cuisine. Despite its busy urban environment, Nairobi has serene spots like the Karura Forest for nature walks and picnics but was flooded during my visit. The city's vibrant nightlife, friendly locals, and mix of traditional and modern experiences make Nairobi a captivating destination for any traveler. Be extra cautious of your safety and belongings while travelling, lurking danger of thefts always.

Buzzing city with a lot of restaurants, bars and social places. Easy modes of transport. Highway has made it wonderful to go from airport to town and vice versa. Lots of greenery and access to game lodges and parks. Lots of high rise buildings too which is not so nice.

loved Nairobi elephant orphanage and giraffe Centre a must - we also saw Bomas of Kenya and some museums. Also visited a tea farm which was a great relaxing day. Restaurants we visited were very nice. People very friendly - easiest way to get around is make sure you have uber app although be careful of them trying to hike price up when they realize you are tourists. Try not to arrange visits for peak travel time as roads are extreamly busy and can be scary. Also if there it is an absolute must to book safari.

I like that there are small privately owned shops and street hawkers. I prefer shopping at individual stalls as opposed to a department store. The food at The Olive Restaurant is a good value. I'd love to look around Simlaw Seeds; I used to have a farm and will return to farming.

Loved Nairobi!!!
Loved Nairobi!!! Do not let people freak you out with the security... No problems whatsoever (not more at least than any western countries to say the least). Do not spend your time in shopping centers, imerge yourself meet Kenyans and go around!! Uber are super safe.. Go for it
The breakfast was okay and the location was perfect very convenient for anyone who would like to be around the CBD. This is amongst the very few hotels in the Nairobi CBD that you'd actually have a comfortable sleep same as the one accorded in any residential neighborhood. The lady at the reception Christine (hope I got the name right) very professional, welcoming and kind to the guests, her service delivery is just exceptional.
Great hotel near the airport. Thr facilities are good and clean. The breakfast was very good quality, and the staff is polite and welcoming, as is the rule in Kenya. If booking a deluxe room, transfer to the airport is complimentary. It only takes 10-15 minutes. There are rooms with view over Nairobi national park, you probably won't see anything mind blowing as it's the area next to the road, but its a nice touch 🙂
The Hotel facilities were wonderful, clean and with exceptionally helpful staff. The Gentleman who drove me to the airport was on time ( 5am) , very helpful and friendly ( Mr Kemboi ) I will definitely recommend this hotel . The proximity to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is also a great thing because you do not have to experience the Nairobi traffic Jam when you are heading to the airport.
I enjoyed the location, right in the heart of Westlands. If you like to walk, Westgate and Sarit Centre are about a 12 minute walk away. The staff was exceptionally warm and accommodating. The shower pressure was the best I have had in any hotel in Nairobi! I especially love the outdoor eating area where they have created a beautiful, serene garden setting! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
This is a wonderful hotel. Our family of four stayed for one night in transit and found the rooms to be extremely quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and very clean.
We were picked up from the airport by the shuttle service quickly and the driver was helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay again when in Nairobi. No complaints, it was great!
Nestled in Nairobi’s bustling Westlands area, the Golden Tulip is a charming, clean and secure hotel. The staff are all professional and friendly. The restaurant, rooftop bar/pool, and the gym are all excellent amenities. Although I stayed there only for two days, I will certainly book my next stay in Nairobi at the Golden Tulip.
This hotel was perfect for my final night in Nairobi. The location is great, in the heart of Westlands. I enjoyed the meal I had at the restaurant. Special thanks to the lovely Winnie, as well as the rest of the team for being so welcoming. The team listened to my request for a quiet room and gave me one on the 8th floor.
Booked first for 5 nights had to extend again for 5 more, the staff are great and the breakfast was too, room service was quick with a wide menu selection.
The location is superb in Westlands Nairobi, next to one of the best mall in EA,with good shops, restaurants and a good food court as well.
Loved everything.
The Best Western was way above our expectations. It is a very modern fabulous hotel within the city. The 180 view of the skyline from our room was exceptional. The restaurant Craft at the hotel and the breakfast were superb. My place to go to next time I visit Nairobi. Book it. You will not repent.
The residence itself is lovely, nicely set, and the suite was exceptional. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the dinner options are very good. At the same time, the price beats hands down all five stars hotels around in Nairobi, making this residence one of the best value for money.
EVERYTHING!!
If you haven't tried Azure Pride Inn Nairobi you don't know what you are missing!
Been to Kempinski, Radisson, Hilton, Intercontinental...nothing yet beats this hotel tucked in somewhere in the most beautiful spot in Westlands. Go discover!!
Very clean, great location, close proximity to all business hubs eg Westlands, Parklands and the CBD. Fast wifi, smart TV with Free Netflix. The owner is very friendly and responsive. Definitely visiting again.
Close to bus station/CBD. Good Staff. Old but good and clean hotel. They clean everyday my room. Spacious room. Towels are provided. Very comfy bed. Definetly will stay again in case I’ll be back in Nairobi.
Breakfast was same like in other hotels in Kenya. So we qualifiy it as good.
FREE Transfer to airport was perfect. Drivers was good guys. Thanks
Best shower head we experienced in whole Kenya. Good Water.
This is one of the best hotels in Kenya..if you have kids and you are worried about the space, your worries end here.
The environment is quiet and the rooms are super clean.
This is our second home.
The internet was extremely fast. The bed was comfortable. And the location of the hotel is in the middle of Nairobi Westlands. The position of the desk to work was perfect.
The location of the hotel in Westlands was great. Close to malls plus easily accessible to many areas of Nairobi. Staff was helpful and the breakfast was excellent
Good location near the CBD and other key sites within Nairobi. Not too far from airport. Was close to a Catholic Church, so we could easily attend mass on Sundays
