I stayed in Chalet Egglen for 4 days on our trip with my husband, daughter and parents. We were welcomed by Markus (AirBnb owner) and given a house tour with pamphlets and maps on the surroundings. As a local, he provided us some great tips on restaurants, where to go on a rainy day, how to navigate around etc. We did a bunch of research beforehand so we knew what exactly we wanted to do in Interlaken and surrounding areas, but you can not beat a local’s insight. The house was very clean, very well equipped and owner was very responsive. We had a few questions here and there and he was beyond helpful. He knew it was our 2-year daughter’s b’day and he even left a cake at our doorstep, going the extra mile to make our time lovely at his place. When you wake up the first thing you see is lake and mountains, the views are to die for. The neighborhood is so pretty. We were split between staying in Interlaken vs here, but so glad we picked this place. 15 min drive from Interlaken, 15 min drive from Thun – perfect location. We loved everything about this place and host. We travel a lot and have never stayed at a better house than this. I would highly recommend this property and Markus’ hospitality!

Easy check in process to get key to the house. The views from the house were stunning and from the balcony with very little to block the views. Can see the mountains and lake from the house. The local bus stops in front of the house. The house was well insulated and warm. Whole house to ourselves. The bed linens were thick. Spacious living room and dinning room. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, plenty of utensils, plates, waffle iron, a fondue pot, electric stove, electric tea kettle, dishwasher, trash bin, refrigerator, and a coffee maker. There's a washing machine in the basement to wash clothes and then dry them on the clothes line in the boiler room. There was free wifi in the house. Plenty of closet and drawer space to store our clothes and shoes. Two bathrooms to share (1 upstairs with a shower, 1 on the ground floor). The neighborhood was peaceful at night and located in a quiet town. A fairly short distance to Lake Thun shoreline. Someone came by to mow and maintain the front lawn. Central location to places we wanted to go ie. Town of Thun, Interlaken, The St. Beatus Caves, Jungfrau, Bern, Lucerne. Extremely affordable lodging compared to places like Interlaken and bigger too! Fairly quick response from host for any questions you may have for them. Provides check in instructions days in advance. Ideal lodging if you plan to rent a car.

Beautiful view of lake Thun. 30 minutes drive to most attractions we were visiting so it’s a nice location for us. Facilities were complete. Just so perfect. This made our trip so memorable. Might consider coming again 😭

Liked the fireplace. It was very pleasant that hosts supplied firewood for our stay. Tho it was only enough for 2 nights. The heating in the house (for bedrooms) were not enough. Host was responsive to questions asked.

Like most people already said, the view from the chalet is absolutely amazing (towards Thunersee/Thun lake and the tall mountains and glacier nearby, such as Jungfrau). It is quite spacious, easily fitting 6 people. Plenty of room to park right in front of it (the driveway is a bit steep but no big deal for a decent driver, and there is a big parking lot right before it in case you are afraid to go up the driveway, but really no reason to be nervous). There is both an outdoor and an indoor terrace, both offering those wonderful views and perfect for breakfast/dining or just hanging out and soaking up the view. At night you also have a great view of the stars and Milky Way when it gets dark, because there is barely any light pollution and the mountains help too (we even saw a couple of shooting stars).

This stay is one of my top recommendations! The location was a bit hard to reach, but the villa had an amazing view. We loved the vibe of the villa and appreciated the equipment provided for us. Overall an amazing stay and totaly recommend the villa to others, thank you!

We loved Casa Toscana. This is a three bedroom house and my husband and I didn't need this much space but we looked at each other and said "how can we not stay here?". If you have even the slightest artistic inclination, a whimsical attitude or simply appreciate the labor of love involved in creating this unique home, this is your place to be. Wandering through the house is practically a destination in itself. There are constant new discoveries of interesting things incorporated into the art. There are at least four distinct outdoor seating areas and all of them offer a wonderful place to relax. Jurg prepped a fire for us on one patio and it was a great place to unwind after a long day hiking. Jurg is a charming, exuberant, talented host who sincerely wants his guests to enjoy their stay. He is informative and welcoming in his communication. The location is an easy walk to Old Town and very close to the lake. Parking is immediately in front of the house which is great for those driving a vehicle. We always hope to make it back to wonderful vacation locations and Switzerland is beautiful and Lake Thun is gorgeous, but the driving factor to bring us back here would be this amazing lodging!
