Pretty town with more going on than we expected. Lovely historic homes with azaleas everywhere! Great retail stores and some unexpectedly excellent restaurants (Javi's, Villagio del Vino). Getting around is very easy in a car (and Uber is available when you're tired of walking!). Found great live music at Rick's on the Square.

Tyler seems to be the place you go if you have a reason to go there: family perhaps, a funeral or a wedding. I can't say there is any redeeming reason to make Tyler a stop. I did though have a really nice steak dinner in a restaurant that was like going back in time. Sorry though I do not recall the name. If you do have to stay the night somewhere in the area Tyler wouldn't be your worst choice.

The town is fine. Its the hotel that sucks beyond words.
The town is fine. Its the hotel that sucks beyond words. Still no reply on my $100 deposit that isn't mentioned on Booking for a $70 room with old food in mini fridge and cobwebs in the room not to mention the bathroom with a toothbrush sticking out of the noisy ass almost falling down light fixture. I posted pictures but they may have been left. I wouldn't stay there ever again if that was the only place left in town.
What a shame for this town.

Tyler is a wonderful place, that is growing growing constantly. If you can afford it there are many mid to high-end motels and hotels in Tyler. Do not pick this location unless it's your only option financially.

First time being there was pretty cool.
First time being there was pretty cool. I came for football playoffs so I didn’t have much time to explore. But a few of the people that came with us, did have great things to see about local restaurants and etc.

Dangerous town especially north Tyler went there once for a baby shower and came back home the same day. Someone literally got shot in the next room at the hotel i was staying at because apparently that area has a reputation for crime. Never ever again will i go back
The location was quite, the hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. The facilities were clean, well kept, parking was easy. The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning unit was quite and efficient. The breakfast was delicious and my personal favorite, the eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, waffles, yogurt, orange juice, cranberry juice and coffee were all wonderfully good. The staff were all very friendly and polite and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.
Christine, the front desk concierge, was absolutely amazing and so Full of JOY, super friendly and informative and truly made our visit to Tyler memorable. What an amazing check in experience. We need more like her in the world! Every staff member we came in contact with smiled and were genuinely nice. Housekeeping and Breakfast concierge included. The breakfast was clean, adequate selection and nice presentation. The hotel was impeccably clean & you can tell they have a very hard-working yet happy staff.
The person who greeted us and checked us in at the desk was delightful. We were so pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was (traveling with my 76 yo mother who has limited mobility so that is really saying something!). We were able to get a room v close to the elevator (crucial for my momma!) The workout facilities were ace (lots of machines to choose from, bathroom right there, well ventilated). AND the location put us near every dang thing we could have wanted in Tyler!
Tyler is a beautiful place. Lots to do. Major hospitals with one having historical background. Good food, great entertainment, and easy to get around in. But if you are bored Shreveport is about 2 hours away, if you're a slow driver, with it's many casinos and to the west, also 2hours is the Dallas-Ft.Worthetropolis. There is no Costco but Dallas has one. There were plenty of places around the hotel for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We booked the king suite and it was very delightful. The bed was big and comfortable. The sofa was a nice addition where we could socialize. The bathroom was also spatious. When we requested cleaning, the staff arranged my make up. Everybody was very nice.
Hotel was very clean and staff was attentive The room was nice and cool when we came in from the hot car. The morning breakfast was good and I liked that it was open till a later time. (10am)
