The Lorien is an exceptional facility - an island of tranquility in Old Town. It’s at the west end of King Street, Old Town’s main street, about 3/4 mile from the waterfront. The city provides a free shuttle along King Street, so it is easy to get around. There are many fine restaurants within walking distance.

The breakfast was a nice feature, it helped me save some money on food since there was variety and the use of disposable plates made it easy to take the food back to the room when the dining area was crowded.

Location was great for exploring the city! Family friendly, not a lot of frills but plenty of comfort. Breakfast & wine / beer in the lobby in the afternoon was great -- my girls LOVED the breakfast buffet lol!

One of the worst hotels where I've been to, and I've been to A LOT! Its only good point is its location because it's 1000 ft to a metro station and that puts you anywhere in DC in a short while.
The person at the reception at check-in was very friendly. The hotel is located very close to a metro station. Rooms are quite big, bed is OK, bathroom was reasonably clean.
