Spokane has good and bad.
Food scene and walking the downtown are is good.
Parking is expensive and sucks. Cleanliness and safety downtown especially at night is a concern. The old lyrics, "The freaks come out at night." are appropriate.
Even Spokane is experiencing similar degredation as Portland, Seattle etc.
Why do these cities allow themselves to become so unsafe and dirty? all pretty much run by the libtards.

I only spent my time in Downtown which has nice restaurants and everything is within walking distance.
The best part is the beautiful natural park called "Riverfront Park" where the Spokane river is traversing; there are playgrounds for children, benches for relaxation, jogging trails, a pond with geese and ducks, a small Japanese garden and an open auditorium for performances. The garden with huge trees is magnificent. This park with the natural river in the middle of downtown is uniquely Spokane.

Spokane is a nice city.
Spokane is a nice city. There are a lot of restaurants downtown within walking distance or a short Uber ride. The river area is beautiful and a must-see. As with other cities, the unhoused population is growing, and can be somewhat aggressive, so travel in groups and be aware of your surroundings.

Spokane has some lovely areas to visit, especially Manito Park. There are some beautiful old homes in the Rockwood area. It is not, however, the place to look for boutique shopping. I definitely would recommend dining at one of the restaurants located adjacent to the Spokane Falls, for the view as well as the fine dining. You do not want to pass up the carousel. It is remarkable, with an interesting history.

Spokane has a lot going for it with the nearby mountains.
Spokane has a lot going for it with the nearby mountains. However, the trash and the homeless that seemed to be everywhere were a turnoff. We attended the "Pigout in the Park" event and there seemed to be way too much food. I guess that is what a pigout is meant to be. The music was good except you could hear the other bands performing at the same time, and it created a mixed sound rather than listening to only one band. Perhaps the park is too small for more bands to be able to play without competing sounds. There seemed to be too many commercial vendors that mass produce the same things at the event as well. I would prefer more original artwork myself, but I understand commercial vendors need to make money too. We drove around to quite a few places, and I didn't see any areas that didn't have a fair amount of trash. We stayed at a nice hotel with beautiful views of the mountains, but the streets getting to the hotel had rundown homes and homeless in plain view. We did eat at a cute bar, but it was a bit dark inside, and the potato salad had potatoes that didn't serm fully cooked in it. The sandwich, on the other hand, was delicious, and my friends drank beer and really liked their selection of draft beers. In summary, unforunately, Spokane is not a city I would care to ever visit again.

I was recently there for 3 days.
I was recently there for 3 days. It was a quick trip that I had only planned a few weeks before. I enjoyed the parks, trails, and the local breweries. I rented a bike and rode ~20 miles to the east to the Idaho border which was relatively easy to do. I took the Empire Build Amtrak train from Portland and had no issues. Also, pubic transportation for a city this size was pretty good.
Had to get a last-minute reservation for an unplanned overnight in Spokane. Everyone on the staff was friendly and super helpful. The building has a cool older vibe that they definitely maintained through a remodel. My room was well-decorated, clean, and comfortable. The staff also made some great dinner recommendations for restaurants nearby as the hotel is easily within walking distance of several options for that and shopping.
I didn’t like anything. It was located in a ratty section of Spokane with homeless and addicts everywhere around the area and hotel. I didn’t feel safe. No parking, only a surprise $30 fee to have it parked two blocks away. No manager available to talk to. Had to talk to restaurant manager who was of absolutely no help.
Crappy property and I can’t believe Bookings.com recommended it.
It's less than ten minute walk to the waterfront park in Spokane, so you won't have to try to find a place to park downtown and pay for parking. It's next to the railroad tracks but the tracks are up on a viaduct, so they trains don't honk their horns. If you want to be downtown and don't mind the occasional noise of freight train going by, this is a good location.
Everything is new as advertised and the photos are an exact depiction of what the place looks like. Exceptionally comfortable and clean. The location is very close to the downtown area, not far far from all the major attractions in the area. We really enjoyed our stay. We will make the same choice again if we have to visit Spokane again.
I transferred to this hotel from a dump downtown and it was like being transported from hell to heaven--my room was immaculate, large, and bright, the staff were cheerful and kind, and who doesn't love fresh cookies every evening! I also enjoyed the easy walk to Gonzaga U along the river (I was in Spokane to visit my child there).
This is my "go to" hotel. I can park right outside my door and I can walk to many great restaurants, to the mall, etc. The airport is very close. I live about 100 miles from Spokane. I always stay the night at the Steam Plant hotel the night prior to my departure flight and after my arrival. It is very close to the airport.
The property was close to Rte 90 which suited us well as we were travelling on the following day. The room was large, clean and well supplied with toiletries etc. bThe beds were large and very comfortable. The staff were extra helpful and friendly. Every area we visited in the hotel was clean.
The Hotel was clean and welcoming..The restaurant had a great late night menu. The beds were comfortable and the soaps/shampoos/lotions provided a nice touch. We stayed last minute for our Stanwood Playoff Game against MT. Spokane and felt extremely welcomed!

Everything was as we appreciate when staying at a hotel.
It was quiet, clean, with lots of parking, and a variable well stocked breakfast.
We will return on our next tour through the Spokane area.
The Spokane Clubs downtown location is perfect for shopping and shows. This European style hotel is a throwback to a more elegant time, Excellent restaurant.
Breakfast was great, the hotel and my room were spotless and parking was secure. Everything seemed new and fresh in my room, including all the furniture.
Everything about this property was great - location, breakfast, rooms, quietness, value for money..... heartily recommend to anyone traveling to Spokane.
