The room met our expectations! My husband and I stayed during a blizzard and we were still content with our stay. They plowed the hotel parking lot and supplied shovels to help get our car out after the snow downpour. The room was spacious and for the days we decided to stay in we were able to connect a gaming system to the tv to play movies. This hotel is in a nice spot to walk to food as well as views. The shopping center is super close too. We aren't snowboarders and were hoping to explore the town. We felt we were able to do so well at this spot despite the snow. We plan to revisit Tahoe in the summer.

South lake Tahoe is a nice place to visit.
South lake Tahoe is a nice place to visit. I love the fresh air and the smell of the Sierras. The restaurants are okay, they try to make you think that they have all this amazing dining experiences, but they're just pretty much mediocre everywhere you go.

It's very difficult to figure out where to go to play in the snow & parking is a nightmare wherever you go. Traffic is bad. The casinos don't even try to entertain you or tease you. The slots just take your money without even stringing you along. The slots totally sucked, especially compared to Indian casinos & that includes all the casinos in South Lake, as well as North Lake.

Wow, haven't been to South Lake Tahoe in about 6-8 years and what a HUGE difference. It's become more commercialized and not as "homey" as it once felt. A lot of the older establishments are out of business with new stuff and construction taking over. The mom and pop restaurants we went to were pretty bad. It's gone down for charm, but up for convenience. Great groceries. Whole Foods, Safeway, Grocery Outlet... few bakeries, but we were shocked at the prices. $4.25 for a bear claw pastry! Still, it's beautiful and still worth the trip. Heavenly ski resort now requires reservations for parking on the weekends. They charge for cars with less than 3 people.

S. Lake Tahoe is fine for those seeking to shop, visit casino, night life however if you want to get away from the crowds and experience nature you are better off finding accommodations on the North side of the lake.

The location is great and close to stores and beach.
The location is great and close to stores and beach. They allowed pet in the area as well and the area is very quiet and safe. The only this we don’t like is no rug for the bathroom and the entrance door. They put a white towel instead. And the window or vinyl were dusty. Overall we love the place and we had a great stay. I would recommend this to family and friends.

The Alder Inn was such a cute place to stay! It was in a great location in South Tahoe that made it easy to access everything that I wanted to do while there. It was also within walking distance to restaurants and shopping! The Alder Inn definitely provided the more rustic experience that I wanted to have while staying in Tahoe (I didn't want to stay at a hotel/casino). It was clean, the staff was friendly, and it felt super homey! I would for sure recommend this place to friends and I would absolutely stay there again!
The continental breakfast had lots of choices including pancakes and waffles. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The location is about a quarter mile away from Heavenly Village (5- or 10-minute walk?) with plenty of dining, drinking, and shopping choices. Even closer to the Stateline casinos. Park your car for the trip to South Lake Tahoe and there's plenty of things to do within walking distance.
Personally we loved the location. It was not in the super busy area near all the casino's, which was a bonus for us. Lake Tahoe was right across the street, with beach access and there were plenty of restaurants near by within walking distance. The hotel had a pool, jacuzzi and gym on site which were great. We were on the second floor, had a balcony, the room was clean and had good amenities.
Small but nice and comfortable room right near all the action. When I go to the South Lake Tahoe area, I prefer to stay on the California side instead of the Nevada side and away from the casinos, but this is about as close you can get to everything South Lake Tahoe has to offer. Walking distance to everything, and a at great price.
Location was exceptional, 1 mi. from casinos, shopping, Heavenly Valley, close to 2 grocery stores, restaurants and other services, across from Lake Tahoe and a marina to rent a speedboat.
Price excellent, a week for $1000 for a large king bed fireplace spa room.
Hotel attractive, swiss chalet outside.
Person at the front desk was new. It took us a couple extra minutes to check in, but we were in no rush.
Room was comfortable. We were there for only 1 night, all basic things were covered. We went to casino later in night, had a few drinks and could walk back to our hotel room.
I loved the theme of the hotel and the furniture in the rooms! Very comfy beds! Great location! Right across from Harvey’s casino! Fire pits were nice!!! Def staying here every time 😁
Lovely hotel! Room was extremely spacious, nice jacuzzi bath which was a nice treat! Very clean, fridge in the room was helpful. Good location. The free bikes were a nice touch
Wonderful hotel in a beautiful area. Really close to the Lake and also to Reno or Carson City in
Nevada. The hotel is equipped with the Laundry room (1.5$). Clean and cosy.
Clean room, great shower, comfy bed, free parking, perfect location allowing to walk to some Nevada casinos, shops, Heavenly Gondola, and more.
Would stay again.
