Hotel is in a great location. The rooms could have been cleaner I found paper trash on the floor and hairs in the bathroom. Also we had to move rooms because of a sulfur like smell, not sure what it was. Second room did not have the smell. Worst hotel breakfast not even a bagel or bread for toast. Very basic.

The shops and town are beautiful!
The shops and town are beautiful! I loved that the hotel we stayed in had an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna/steam room options. The breakfast was awesome! It was super close to the beach. We went in off season and I absolutely loved it, not too crowded but enough to socialize. Will be going back with my kids next time!

Went at the very end of March.
Went at the very end of March. It got very windy but overall the weather was perfect for long walks on the beach and visiting the downtown shopping areas. It’s busy but not too crowded at that time of year.
The beaches themselves were gorgeous both day and night. I recommend taking the few minute drive north to Cape Henlopen State Park for those beaches as well, or take a long walk if your legs feel good. Great views of lighthouses and more.
The seafood was excellent at each location we went, but note that if you go before April, you’ll likely not be able to find steamed blue crab on the menu.

There are many shops and restaurants to chose from. This time we had a nice seafood dinner at Finns. We also stopped for a snack & drink at the Big Oyster. Both were great.
We enjoyed visiting Schellville Village on one of its last nights. This is something we'd like to try again maybe next year probably in early December as some of the vendors had already closed down when we were there.
It was also fun to see the Polar Plunge teams making their annual New Year's Day plunge at Cape Henlopen Beach.

The room was huge, and we were upgraded. The breakfast was great and included with the stay. There was a wine and cheese reception as well as cookies in the lobby. All in all, our stay could not have been better.

I was not in Rehoboth although I was very close.
I was not in Rehoboth although I was very close. I was actually in Lewes.
We went to Savanah beach not Rehoboth Beach. It was beautiful. Previous years we went to Ocean City MD. I liked Lewes very much and will go back.
This was by far our most pleasant vacation thus far and we have been vacationing In Rehoboth Beach twice a year for the past 8 years. This hotel made this particular vacation the reason why it was by far our best trip. The hotel is extremely clean both inside and out, the staff is extremely nice and the rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and are equipped with everything and anything you would need for a long stay… If I have the option, I will definitely be spending all our future vacations at this hotel…
The staff was very friendly! The outdoor patio/grilling area was a pleasant unexpected touch. The pool wasn't freezing so I was able to enjoy it even though it hasn't peak summer season. The breakfast was good. Actual eggs and bacon are a plus for me. Service was quick to respond when a light bulb was out. even the other guests in the hotel were friendly. There were laundry facilities on-site; something I wasn't aware of but very happy to have. It was close enough to the beach.
The room was large with 2 queen beds with a small kitchen area with microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. This worked out for us since we travelled with our pet. She had plenty of room to get around. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The location of the hotel was good.. right next to an Acme, liquor store, Jersey Mikes Subs and frozen yogurt shop. Also conveniently located within 15 minutes from restaurants and beach area.
Location was perfect, no need to use the car to go to restaurants, town center or Rehoboth beach!
Room was very clean and hotel very quiet, there was plenty of spaces to sit and relax. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, a large variety of pastries, omelets made to order, ect.
Parking was very nice and easy. No surprises!
Liked front desk manager s were very curious . And clean ,good attitude go about the guests satisfaction. Will like to re -iterate about the swimming pool or clean rooms this was a typo the truth is The ,"American Inn , Rehoboth beach, Delaware was the property that i intended to describe about not being up to my expectations.
There wasn’t really anything that we liked about the property. The location itself felt unsafe. There was a couple staying there that was basically passed out drunk on the one stoop and another guy passed out behind his truck. The sister hotel was not a good place to stay either. We ended up leaving and driving 2 hours home.
Location, cleanliness of the rooms, food and kitchen staff were excellent. The hotel ambiance was a big plus, too. Knowing the history of the hotel from the display photos was helpful. After checking out, we were able to lounge around on the first floor until the opening hour of our favorite restaurant.
I thought I was getting a suite, I got a room with 3 beds, like a regular hotel room. There was sand all over 2 of our beds when we checked in. When we drive up to the building the staff was on the side drinking. The manager was apologetic and nice, but that was not the room I paid for $400 a night.
The hotel was right on the beach, full of antiques, including in the rooms, & the food/service for breakfast was great. The parrots in the lobby was a special treat. My wife’s comment was that she would like to work there as a maid do she could visit all the rooms.
Beautiful property right on the Boardwalk. Interesting Victorian theme throughout. Staff was exceptional. Only had breakfast on the restaurant but it was very good and they had a very nice menu.
