Can only drive to and from the location-not walkable- but we had a rental so no problem there. Very clean, very spacious, nicely updated and maintained. Loved the ambience and wonderful public areas of the property. Location felt safe and secluded. Loved the private outdoor area (patio and soaking tub). Staff was amazing and great customer service (exceeded expectations!). Loved the beauty of the landscaping and being able to see the mountains from the property. Loved the easy to use custom security code (vs a traditional key) for the front gate and room. Loved the outdoor music selection and the volume it was kept at!
Loved the outdoor kitchen and grill for guest use.

Desert Hot Springs is economically depressed compared to nearby Palm Springs. We stayed New Year's week, and a couple of the restaurants we had thought we'd try were still closed for the holidays. We selected Desert Hot Springs for the natural thermal water (apparently only one hotel in Palm Springs has genuine from-the earth hot water, but most in Desert Hot Springs do). If that's not important to you, stay in Palm Springs. We did two amazing hikes in the Indian Canyons near Palm Springs.

Desert Hot Springs is fine if you're coming specifically to a resort. The town itself is minimal, has few restaurants, and little entertainment. Close enough to Yucca Valley and Palm Springs for those things though.

I was taken aback by several experiences while on the property!
1) The entire property needs renovating and a quality check. For the pricing, furniture, decor and look should be at a higher and more pleasing level.
2) The food served at the restaurant was subpar at best. Lots of issues and food had to be returned and adjusted several times!?!
3) My largest issue was the caliber and presentation of the staff!!! I captured a video of a VERY LOADED Employee while there??? This employee, although very visibly high on something, wasn't asked to leave at all. She was simply asked to sit and fold napkins? She nodded off whole folding each individual napkin and practiced unsanitary habits while doing so!!!

The most interest is the mineral water!
The most interest is the mineral water! It exceeded my expectations. The different temperature in the pools, jacuzzi is great idea!
Some more hours of restaurant with light breakfast or add buffet will be better.
But the most concern - is all wabbling chairs and some carpet renewal, a little refresh wall painting is necessary!
And the view from side of hotel will be better if any landscape will be added or any activity center / park will be built for selfies, artists...

We have been faithful customers of Booking.com, for many years. This year we had at least 10 reservations with them in november for our yearly californian thanksgiving trip. Unfortunately we were bounced off for one reservation by the hotel, in Yucca Valley, without legitimate reason, and left one night out in the cold.
Booking.com has totally disregarded our complaint and proclaimed their irresponsibility. Consequently we shall no longer share our experiences at other facilities, as we gladly did in the past.
we basically had the whole hotel for ourselves. it felt like renting a big villa and was great. the pool side is lovely. it’s in a quiet area. the room is really good and the whole setup is very cute. although the owner was not here, he made sure we managed to get all codes to get into the place. all the check in process was super easy and smooth.
what a great hotel with awesome hot spring pool and spas… well priced in comparison to other local hotels with similar hot spring pools and we did visit two others. Bedroom had a great bed and spacious bathroom with wonderful hot shower. superb heating / cooling and a Small bar fridge. check in was easy and stacks of on-site parking
Loved the privacy of the resort, about 7 units on the property so its super relaxing! The proximity to Cabots adobe, the accommodating staff, the 24 hours mineral pools,& rooms were modern, light,& bright! Rooms 6 & 7 have kitchenettes so you can make your own food if you don’t want to leave the peacefulness of this lovely resort!
The pools are awesome of course. I brought my 4 grand babies and we loved our room. It was very comfortable and spacious. It was enough room for us all with the two queen beds and the large pull out couch. I love this hotel and have stayed here a few times and definitely will be back. Great value for such a great place
The best kept secret in the world . I have travelled a lot . The lady up front I believe her name is Nadin was so warm and welcoming. The staff every one of them were so kind and helpful. The most relaxing hotel I have ever been . The hot spring water was so clean and truly relaxing. Thank you . Price is the best
The pools offer really hot mineral water, which is my main reason for choosing Desert Hot Springs. Plus, there is one quite long pool that permits lap swimming when there aren't too many people in that pool. The place is old and could use some touch up renovation but I like it very much for the price.
I am very pleased to be able to say that this year it was immediately apparent a lot of work had been carried out to bring the hotel back up to it's previous level. Good decoration, nice furniture, and the building in good condition. The pools were as always, really well looked after.
The pool and spas are great. Wasn’t crowded. It was very relaxing. We like staying in the suite with private pool. I will say that room is quite expensive considering the no frills attached to the property. Still it’s a wonderful room and a great place to relax without being bothered.
A gem in the rough. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel/spa especially after a long day at Joshua Tree National park. Everything was top notch. Pool was heated and hot tub was spacious.
Room was fab and bed was comfy. We love being treated like royalty.
Good for bird watchers. Close to Joshua Tree NP, Thousand Palms Oasis, Mt San Jacinto Aerial Tram, and Big Morango Canyon Preserve. The resort has many palms, is very quiet at night, and wonderful hot pools therapeutic for your arthritis pain.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The resort's pools seemed well-maintained and comfortable. The villa was comfortable and well sized. The whole place was quiet and felt private. Being adult only was nice too!
Beautiful, large room with kitchenette, opening on a garden, very comfortable bedding. The hotel provides lots of areas to sit and relax. Breakfast is simple but ample. The two pools were gorgeous as well as the hot tub.
Great place! Beautiful view of the mountains from the pool, pool and jacuzzi 24 hours heated and open, the rooms are big and well decorated and the hotel itself its beautiful. Every time again.
The mineral pools and the in room mineral water tub are incredible. One of the few places I would be fine just never leaving the hotel, and the water really does leave you feeling healthy!
Small cute hotel with a lot of space in the room. Comfortable beds and everything was clean! Pool area is nice, staff is very friendly! Breakfast has good options.
