The room was great - plenty of drawers, good lighting, ground floor with handicap parking right in front of room.
Concierge (PONY!) was very friendly and helpful.

Well I was hoping for more time for personal use, but the time I did have with a nice gentleman I met went quite well. We had an oral debate about several issues., with which I love to swallow all the knowledge possible. It was quite enjoyable. I hope to be back soon!

Chico is a fabulous little town.
Chico is a fabulous little town. So out of the way that it still retains lots of charm, Mom's for breakfast is fabulous. A walk through Bidwell Park is a great way to see something that is truly unique...a natural swimming pool with river in and out

The downtown area, right by the State University is kind of hit and miss, many businesses are either open for short hours or not at all, many store fronts were in transition, some well established businesses but the City is still going through some significant economic challenges.
The homeless situation is not getting any better, the fact they are hanging out and using public parks is not ideal, it is a safety issue for both visitors and students, something the City needs to take into their hands more seriously.
There is plenty of land around the City to plan for some type of facilities for the homeless, so the downtown can come back to thriving and be a safe and clean place to do business and visit.
Most cities are dealing with the same issue, it's a National issue.
Some good places for drinks and food, of course, being a college town, lots of good value.

I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel.
I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. I was told by the desk clerk that I had a very quiet room but I was awakened several times throughout the night due to excessive noise both from above me and in the parking lot.
Cars playing loud music with heavy bass frequented the lot all night long! The room above me sounded like a workout gym!
The people next door tried to open the common door between the rooms twice. Fortunately, I kept my side secured!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet room for the evening.
Also, the "types" hanging out in the area looked a bit shady. I looked up the crime stats of the area and they were very high with assaults and muggings being the most along with occasional nearby murders.
Finding another spot to stay is my advice!

Chico is a fine place we have family there but the hotel was a real disappointment after driving for 31/2 hrs and just wanted to rest we had to try and find another place for our family. Even the drapes I’n the room had holes all over them like bugs had eaten them or something.

Chico is well known for its parks and walkable areas.
Chico is well known for its parks and walkable areas. Many stores in several different areas for shopping: world market, barnes & noble, cost co. Shopping malls and many big box stores. Good variety of restaurants. Chico has a several one way roads. Weather can be extremely hot and dry.
There was cockroaches and we all got bed bugs from staying the night there worst experience I've ever had I will never go there again one of the rooms to synced and even work The towels and the pillowcases were dirty and looks like they had blood stains on them by far the route worst hotel or motel I've ever been in my life
This is the only affordable downtown motel that has comfortable, modern, tastefully decorated rooms (the warm accent lights make the room especially cozy!) And you can’t beat the central location: ice cream and antiques right next door, and only an 8-minute walk to Bidwell Park, boutique shops and the farmers’ market!
Room was large, even with a king size bed, and the mattress "looked" recently new. AC was quiet (as AC goes), better than some larger hotels. Was clean enough for this old facility. Happy there was NO carpet. Separate room for toilet and shower. They real brewed coffee and real half and half creamer
I liked that all the staff was professional, caring and happy! The free breakfast was a great way to start the day. Our room and the decor of the hotel was great. The air unit, microwave, tv, refrigerator and hair dryer worked as they should. We had a wonderful stay at Super 8 Chico!
This is an older hotel with all ground level rooms like the old days. It's nice not having to lug baggage upstairs.
Very pleasant room with all the amenities, coffee maker, fridge, microwave.
Cozy and comfortable in a fairly quiet area.
The location in proximity to downtown Chico. The house had many appliances. The host left bacon and eggs to cook for breakfast. It's comparable to the rates you find for a hotel. Great for a family on budget. The house was clean.
I really liked how it smelled in the hallways, very refreshing. The staff are all friendly and quick with check-ins or any other matters. Also the hotel is right off the freeway and 5 min away from downtown.
Place is really dirty so is the towels. We went out bought our own bedding & towels, used our own pillows aswell, cleaned the bathroom and put down our own bathtub mat and floor mats.
It’s our go to hotel whenever we come to Chico. Rooms are spacious, hot breakfast included, central location. We stay a few times a year while visiting family.
