Beautiful place to stay, clean and quiet, lovely designed, every room is special. Easy walk to Carlsbad Village and the beach. It was a big surprise how relaxed everything and everyone is around here, we extended for another night, very much recommended! It is a self-service self-checkin with no reception but this worked so easy- much better than some overstaffed hotels. A bit like a cottage.

while Carlsbad is a lovely city to see, we did not have enough time to walk around, drive around. We were there for a specific reason, and that took all of our time.
From what I heard the flower gardens are suppose to be gorgeous.

Carlsbad is a quaint small town that is worthy of one-day’s exploration. The greater Carlsbad, including the beaches, flower fields and activities off downtown area can probably filled another couple days’ time. However, I probably will become bored if spending more than three days in the area.

It is a sleepy town where most of the restaurants and bars shutdown by 10:30 - 11:30 or earlier even on the weekends. If you want entertainment or nightlife you have to leave the area and head to towns to the north or south.
The big attraction is the beach and some of the boutique restaurants and shops.

The hotel fell short of my expectations.
The bad first:
The hotel fell short of my expectations.
The bad first:
- The rooms are dirty and in disrepair. My shower turned into a bath.
- The freeway is loud, so you hear cars all night
- The shuttle only starts at 9:30am and runs every 20 minutes. Need to call at 7am to get on the calendar. 11 people to a shuttle.
- Breakfast options are very slim which means you need to venture out to feed yourself. The market next door isn't geared towards breakfast, leaving you starbucks.
The good:
- The location is only 4-5 minute drive to Legoland. Super fast and easy. We decided to forgo the shuttle and just park at the park early (avoid traffic) and eat at a Legoland hotel. Just need to reserve spot on open table night before.
- The pool is nice. Kids loved it.
- Great air conditioning in the room.
Overall, I would rather just pay a little extra and stay at Legoland if you are going to go to Legoland. If you aren't going to Legoland, I don't know why you would stay at this hotel at all.
The hotel goes for a hard value play, but it is a 2 star hotel at best for me.

Well, Summertime is very busy.
Well, Summertime is very busy. Good for finding places to eat. Not so good finding beaches to sit on. Or finding Dog Beaches. Hard to find parking for the beach. Got to get there early. Warm weather inland made for humid weather at the coast. Windmill Food Hall was a great place to eat. As was Benihana and The Green Dragon. Primo Pizza was good too. Beaches were crowded and expect to pay for parking there. If you have one good day at the beach consider yourself lucky.

Terrible experience when trying to sleep the windows don't have proper noise isolation the sound of the freeway plus the sound of their walls/tubs/AC cracking is just awful, we couldn't sleep right the 3 nights there.
The hotel is a very nice complex with a kind of little park within and a nice pool. The rooms are okay and spacious. The personal was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the room was only cleaned once in 7 nights (see below), but we got always new towels when we wanted it. Also, the shuttle service works very well. The manager personally took me once to the city.
The property was okay.
The king suite was nice. There is only a small coffee maker and that’s it. We had to get plates, utensils and pans and towels to wash dishes.
Location to the beach was awesome. Luckily we weren’t in our hotel much so it was fine to have no amenities. Close to Legoland.
I have stayed here before and chose to return. This hotel is basic but very clean and comfortable. The room has all advertised amenities and matched exactly the photos on Booking.com. Staff are friendly. I would stay here again in the future.
Great location so near the beach. Could hear the waves crashing if outside on the grounds, and less than a block to have toes in the sand! Also easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping in Carlsbad. Would definitely stay again!
There was plenty of parking. It was nice to have an air-conditioned room to relax in after the trip down to Carlsbad. The room looked recently renovated and looked nice. the bed was big and was pleasant to sleep on.
The staff were so friendly. My kids loved the lobby legos and the theme room. Legoland is right outside. You can access the castle hotel playground and pool which has a hot tub unlike the Legoland hotel.
The staff was wonderful and very courteous. The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing. 10 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes from legoland and 10 minutes away from a nearby plaza with amazing food
Excellent location; beautiful view from the room. The room was very nice and roomy. Great balcony with ocean view. Hotel is within walking distance to the Carlsbadvillage, stores and restaurants.
The staff were friendly - particularly Craig behind the bar.
Mine was a newly refurbished room which was nice.
The hotel was clean and well maintained.
The pool area is really lovely.
We booked this hotel for a last minute trip to Legoland. Great location and it was nice that the rooms had two beds. We enjoyed the pool and it was convenient to have breakfast there.
This is an ideal location to legoland California and the best Southern California has to offer. The variety of shops, restaurants and alike only a short distance from the hotel.
The hotel is by the highway, which is not the best. It is very close to Legoland which is why we are here. If you have a car, consider renting something by the beach.
