If you want to visit Amsra and the Black Sea region but are put off by the outdated, overpriced hotels along the coast - I highly recommend staying in Bartin and visiting from there (20 minutes drive). Kaf Konak is a gem of a hotel, with a beautiful garden and a restaurant with full bar (which can be difficult to find in the area). Rooms are on the small side but beautifully furnished and restored in line with the historic nature of the building. If I come to the area again, I hope to stay at Kaf Konak again!

The room was lovely, very comfortable and clean, tastefully decorated. The staff were lovely. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring Amasra on foot, as it is right in the centre. Very good value. We were also able to park our car for 24 hours in the next street over for only 100 TL (£2.50).
