Amazing food. As their tag line intimates, they are a food establishment with rooms.
The people were all amazing and the views are perfect.
The room was up to date and fashionable. Love the bathroom.

The location was great. Right on the beach and a nice little boardwalk. A park up the street for kids to play at as well. The kids club was great for the kids as well. Staff was amazing and super helpful

We loved Calheta Beach for its soft sand and calm waters, thanks to the sheltered cove. While not a natural beach, it offers a relaxing atmosphere. The area around the harbor boasts several excellent restaurants, and the beach itself has a convenient beach club for drinks and snacks. Plus, the affordable beach chairs for just 2 euros were a nice bonus.

Calheta is a nice village and had a big supermarket as well as smaller shops and a white sand beach. If you enjoy hiking, you will have to travel a bit because most of the hikes are not located in this part of the island. I would personally stay somewhere a bit more centered next time. Although this town also had a certain charm because part of the village is still rather old, it also has a main road next to the beach with some restaurants, a bigger supermarket, pharmacy, ... I enjoy staying in a neighborhood which is a little more vibrant and went on a lot of hikes, so that's why I would choose a different town to stay the next time I visit Madeira.

A small town with amazing views over the Atlantic and a public sandy beach. There is a museum of contemporary art and a sugar refinery, but we did not visit them. A very short walk on the waterfront. Worth visiting the Jardim do Mar, a small village with pedestrian narrow streets. We also enjoyed the dolphin watching trip. It takes about 40 minutes by car from Calheta to Funchal.

Probably the nicest place of Madeira, especially for those who love sunbathing, sandy beaches and relaxation. Also if You would like to travel to North of Madeira, it is much closer to do it from Calheta region comparing to Funchal.

Lovely small town close to the see, all accomodation are close but take care ... if you don't like to climb a slope, it will be hard because all the streets are uphill !!!

The area is quite widespread from the marina and sand beach up into the mountains. Marina and beach area lovely and not inundated by 'cruisers'.
Some good local cafes and bars inland. Very steep in places. Be careful if walking if recently wet! Good connections by bus to Funchal, Porto Moniz (well worth a visit with its rock pool swimming), and other smaller seaside villages. A good base for a walking holiday especially if you have a car though some levada walks can be got to by bus. Has an interesting looking modern art museum sadly closed for maintenance on my visit.
Beautiful little house, nice garden with sea views and some friendly cats coming around every day. The house is very well equipped, it was a real joy cooking in the kitchen. The beds are very comfortable and the big rain shower was amazing too.Its just a short drive to Calheta Beach and lots of trekking paths. We stayed in lots of places all over the world and Madeira Island and this one was definitely one of our favourites! We absolutely loved this place and wished we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended!
Stunning Location on the mountain hill. the view is absolutely amazing! very easy to reach by a car. 5 min’ drive from everything you ever need (restaurants, supermarket, beach, marine etc..) and the owners (Gabriel & Jorge) are more the amazing.
They built everything by themselves and every single detail was on spot!
even if you go for a vacation or need to work from your laptop during your vacation (internet is superrrr good! as we are Digital Nomads). everything you need in one place!
100/100!!
The hotel is built around the restaurant, so as you'd expect the breakfast and dinner is one of the best on Madeira. Local, fresh and changing everyday. Perfect for foodies.
We travelled with our 4 year old and the staff where incredibly welcoming and friendly. For the 3 of us we had one of the houses, rather than the rooms. The house had stunning sea views from the bed, with a extremely private terrace looking out onto a waterfall.
We'd go back in a heartbeat
Astounding view from the garden. Comfortable and private, with well-equipped kitchen. A 10 minute walk to Calheta marina with a supermarket, beach, and restaurants (the path is very steep though). Zeza is a very friendly and accomodating host.
Reaching the place from Funchal by bus is challenging, I'd only recommend it to adventurous souls (take bus 142, exit at a nameless bus stop about 2km above the house, walk 20 minutes downhill along a local asphalt road).
Lovely hotel miles from anywhere so if you like peace and quiet this is the place to go. Very polite and helpful staff. Great food in the restaurant, plenty of choices.Wonderful apartment overlooking the ocean and fantastic views all round.
Indoor pool and sauna very good and even used outdoor pool..though a tad chilly in January! great location for walks and there's a courtesy bus to Calheta and the rum distillery...all in all a great holiday.
Really enjoyed our stay. The pod is really comfortable, the outdoor space is lovely. Staff friendly, check in and out was easy. Amazing views from every aspect! The small honesty shop was great, and enjoyed receiving fresh bread each morning of our stay. Recommend hiring a car to get around as the roads to the pod are steep I wouldn't want to walk them. Calheta is a really lovely part of Madeira to visit and will be returning in the future.
A great place to stay, away from the busy area's which we wanted, not to far from the beach at calheta. The house was what we expected so certainly no disappointments, the family who own the property are very welcoming and hospitable, they made the stay even better, we certainly hope to visit again,it's on our list of properties. Not to far from Rabacal where we enjoyed a a great walk.
Mrs Esmeralda is the most charming host I’ve ever met, the villa was clean and perfectly prepared for guests. There wasn’t any problem with picking up keys, Mrs Esmeralda showed us where are towels, blanket for beach, etc so we weren’t confused, she also told us where we should look for the shop, the best beach in Calheta and cafe shop :) I’d recommend to everybody
This felt like a resort. Everything you need is on property. There is a pool to relax, plenty of amazing food, and the staff was beyond helpful and kind. The property itself is gorgeous, overlooking the coast. Our rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We will come back to Madeira to stay at this location.
An absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location in Calheta. All the staff we met were incredibly helpful and really wanted to make our stay a wonderful experience. The food in the buffet and a la carte restaurants was exceptional. Fantastic walks, but make sure you have comfortable walking boots!
Acomodation is near the sea (2 min), the playgroud is 2 min as well. The house is nice, clean and you can find everything you can need. Francisco was on whatsapp. He is really kind. In Calheta was almost every day sunny. And the shop is just 5 min by walk. You can just enjoy Madeira:)
A peaceful place with only noises of nature. An easy walk to three cafe/restaurants, and great views of the sea. The owner met us nearby (in her car) and showed us the way which avoided the steep, narrow roads (quite common in Madeira!) and lived close by for any problem.
Very convenient location near the beach, children's playground and restaurants. The house is cozy and clean, kitchen fully equipped and the beds and pillows were very comfy (almost too much:)
Francisco was a helpful and relaxed host, pleasant to arrange things with.
The place is absolutely gorgeous and the views are stunning. We had a wonderful 3 night stay which was by far the highlight of our 2 week vacation in Madeira. I would recommend this place to everyone who's looking for a quiet stay away from the towns and cities.
The house is quite big and offers everything you need. Every bedroom has ocean view. The terrace is huge and has a great view to island, ocean and the art museum. Location near Calheta Beach is nice and the people are too. Thank you!
The best views of the ocean, well stocked cupboards, easy check-in/out process, didn't lack anything (blankets, beach towels, salt/pepper, a few coffee pods were all provided).
