The view for the pictures and all the castle is beautiful, but only for pictures and not from near view, you take a closer look and find many dust and not clean areas, absolutely not good maintenance on all the facilities!
An indoor pool , gym and spacious rooms with free internet are offered at this elegant hotel. Traditional local crafts and food are sold at Hidalgo Market, 10 minutes away.

The pool and the gym. The place is clean and you can find pretty much the same quality you have in other hotels of the same group (IHG).

The hotel faces Union Garden, and each room has a stylish name. The facilities are new and comfortable.
There are also L'Occitane amenities.
Unión Garden has live music until midnight, and while other hotels have complained of excessive noise, there was very little noise at this hotel (that's why we had very effective earplugs).
Breakfast was served at the upscale restaurant next door and was very delicious with coffee, fruit, bread, and a main dish.
Although the price is a little high, it is strongly recommended.

The location is not inside the town. It's a good place to stay if you have a car. The roof is fantastic, but no breakfast was concluded.

If you are going to Guanajuato to see the Historical Center...
If you are going to Guanajuato to see the Historical Center and be near restaurants and shops, find a place close to the center. Especially if you are older or have mobility issues. There are many steps and hills to get almost anywhere.

We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime.
We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime. We were only there two nights as a quick stop on our drive home to the US. It's an amazing city with the mining history and tunnels carved in the mountain. The architecture in the historic center is gorgeous, many buildings are from the 1700 and 1800s. We loved climbing the hill to the statue for the view as well as just wandering and exploring. There are all kinds of restaurants and street food, music in the streets every night and lots of shops of souvenirs. We recommend spending several days here.

Small, wonderful, kaleidoscopic, walkable, and friendly city to visit and explore. Great range of activities available: art and architecture, museums and music venues and food options (from street food on up) and hiking in the surrounding hills. Speaking Spanish helps, even if at a rudimentary level like mine. Guanajuato is an easy to just be. And if you forget the sunscreen ... farmacias to the rescue! Enjoy your visit.

It is a beautiful city with lots to explore.
It is a beautiful city with lots to explore. It is more historic and lots of walking but we enjoyed. My kids enjoyed it even with it not being a lot of attractions geared towards children. Lots of street vendors and delicious foods.

The people were very friendly.
The people were very friendly. A lot of walking goes on with very little other transportation. There are definitely a huge number of people walking the street that usually come up from the tunnels. The tunnels being the major source of entrance into the city. The parks are usually full of people walking around and in the evenings they have lots of songs and and other activities.
I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and even though it is a bit far from the center of the city, I like the quiet and convenience of it's location. There is a Soriana grocery store and two nice restaurants just a few steps from the front door. This trip my friends and I were on the third floor with nice balconies overlooking the city. We had breakfast on the balcony and our evenings ended with glasses of wine and the sunset.
Everything! Our stay at Sanbernabe Tres with Veronica and Rafael was certainly one of the highlights of our 5 months in Mexico. The house is so thoughtfully and beautifully restored, a real treasure, every inch is to be enjoyed. Veronica and Rafael have thought of everything a guest could possibly need and are there to help and we did need their help with several things! Staying at Sanbernabe Tres is a real treat.
we love how central the property was. Well appointed and historic facilities. The room was spacious clean comfortable, and the staff was wonderful and very helpful with us. We had to wait for the room and could enjoy the restaurant right outside the hotel. I could also park my motorcycle in there secure parking right under the hotel Which is hard to find in Guanajuato. Overall highly recommend.
We had a really nice experience. The rooms are really nice and comfy and the staff was helpful. Although most of them werent speaking english they were trying to help us with everything we needed. Also the hotel is in the center of Guanajuato which makes it really easy to walk around. Finally there is an amaaazing view of the city from the terrace!
The location is perfect! The hotel is just around the corner (1 min walk) from the Reunion Garden and Juarez Theatre. It is eminently walkable to all the sites in the historic city centre from the hotel. A lot of restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood too! The hotel staff are helpful and try their best to make the stay comfortable.
hotel San Diego is right where it needs to be, in the main square and still a good distance from all the attractions that bring you to Guanajuato city. the prices are fair and the staff is amazing. This hotel has been our go to hotel for some years and will never change that. especially when you continually get treated great by staff.
Great location -- near everything yet very quiet, safe and had great views of the city from the lovely patio. The house was full of art and history making it seem so much more special than a hotel room. The kitchen was gorgeous and very well fitted out. And the beds were very comfortable. Felt like staying at home, only better.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and it had a great shower. The view over the city was lovely. The hotel has a nice pool, which we didn’t use but enjoyed sitting beside while we read.
We have a small dog and she was made welcome.
The location is away from the noise of central.
Amazing views from the balcony.
If you want to enjoy city walk, it's a bit too tiring to go up to the hotel but I guarantee spectacular views from here! You don't need to go to El Pípila.
The owner is very friendly and he served homemade breakfast every day:)
I got to spend a good time in Guanajuato.
this property was comfortable, clean, the room was spacious, this property is managed by the owners who are very friendly, kind and are always willing to give suggestions regarding tourist attractions and places to eat. Their breakfast was perhaps the best breakfast I had in my whole stay in Mexico.
Casa de Colores was fantastic! A beautiful and unique property reminiscent of traditional Mexico.
The owner is so nice and very helpful.
The included breakfast was wonderful, as well.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the beautiful city of Guanajuato.
Location is complicated in Guanajuato, Mexico. La Paz Hotel was in the PERFECT spot, one block walk to all the best restaurants, live Mariachi's singing, and the 'tolling of the bells daily' from the Cathedral next door (like heavenly music).
A one night stay in my favorite hotel I Guanajuato. Have stayed there many times. Great location as I was driving the back road from Dolores Hidalgo. Parking in front with security.
Great location , great room with modern renovations, great value for money ,very helpful and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend. The best I’ve stayed in so far in Mexico.
There was a problem with the booking so I was offered Hotel Plaza Mexico instead, all comments refer to there. Breakfast excellent, WiFi good, water hot, room clean.
