Great location in the center, but still quiet. We loved the spa. The room with 2 twin beds was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpfull and resolved an issue for us very adequately. There are many small restaurants close by and the Hirome market is also 5-10 minutes by foot. We stayed during the week and had no issues to park at the nearby OK parking lot.

Location was great and the room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable for me, and the staff was very nice. We had some issues finding the way to park our car before checking in because we didn't know for sure that we were supposed to park at the adjacent parking garage before talking to the hotel front staff (but maybe I didn't read the find print). 1000 yen for parking per day felt reasonable, though we have stayed many hotels that had a free parking, so it felt a little meh, but most hotels around the Kochi city metro didn't have any parking, so it was nice to have the parking garage right next to the hotel.

Tasty hastu-gatsuo and beautiful botanical garden!
Tasty hastu-gatsuo and beautiful botanical garden! Makino botanical garden is within 15 minutes by car from the central Kochi. It has its own beauty even in winter, but the beauty comes in the other seasons. Hirome Market is also one of the must-go spots. The staff is friendly and the sashimi there is absolutely tasty -turist-price, though.

the tourist train from Kochi is higly recommended, it is better to self driving for visiting Kochi as we found that the schedule of bus travelling around is limited and not too frequet , it would be great if there is more bike rental shop as we visited a little area Tosa and we found that there was no rental shop for bicycles , so disappointed.

Probably very frequently overlooked city in Shikoku, it was definitely worth a visit. Firstly, the city center is very walkable, of course, the main highlight of the city is the castle. It is one of the smaller castles in the country, but the surrounding grounds are open to public 24 hours a day, which, of course, gave me an option to visit it during a nice early morning weather, without the crowds and everything connected with them.
There are other places I wanted to see, but the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden was definitely one of the spots I could not miss. Really a beautiful place, which would be even more nice if the sakura blossom forecast was a bit more accurate.
I missed a visit of Shikoku Automobile museum, but there are only some things a man can do in one full day of visit. Next time.

Kochi is a fantastic city, and the only problem I have is the difficulty in getting there. But once you arrive, it's a wonderful small city. Kochi boasts a wonderful castle where you can get a great tour of the history of the Kochi area. On the east side of the city there is a really nice botanical garden inspired by one of Japan's most famous botanists. And the Katsuharama Beach just to the south of the garden is a wonderful location for a stroll, and it has an especially nice sunset. And after a long day, there is no place better for dinner than the Hirome Market. At this market, the entire city comes together for the local seafood of Kochi. If you want to try the local specialty of seared bonito while chatting with the locals, this is the place to do so.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to explore anything further away from the city but I would love to come back to explore the rest of Kochi prefecture.

You can visit all the places that are recommended to you in a day but that is only the start. Go to the Information Centre outside the train station. They offer free bicycle hire. They were the most helpful people ever.
Location was superb; right beside the main shopping street and attached to a familymart (they even have their own entrance from the hotel connecting to it!)
The bath was good after a day out in the cold and the free food perks were fun; didn’t use the massage chair but noticed there was a mini manga library in the massage chair room too which was a nice touch.
Room was clean and has everything you will need. It was also relatively spacious for a Japan hotel.
This was a very affordable hostel to use as a "base-camp" for the pilgrimage around Kochi. After temple 28, I took the train here and left my bag to walk around pack-free and the cost, even with bus fare here each night, was more affordable than if I had stopped closer the temples every night.
It's very small and minimalistic, perfect if you just want an affordable place to sleep.
the multi-person room was extremely comfortable, the bunk beds were super comfy and it was nice to have our own space. The dude who runs the place is extremely friendly and super knowledgeable plus is ready to give recommendations for anything. facilities are clean and the breakfast looked good even if I didn’t have a chance to get some from my early start.
Pleasant hotel as usual Japanese hospitality: faultless. Parking was easy and we lucky to find one in the hotel basement. Locate on the edge of the CBD but ok for people with car or use public transportation. The room is ok for couples, for the price it is very good. We like Nikko chain so definitely will recommend and will stay again.
The hotel had a classic “retro” vibe and the view of the city was very nice, especially the sunrise in the morning! We felt right at home and appreciated the friendliness of the staff. We were able to check in slightly earlier than the standard time, and we were glad we could park our car conveniently just downstairs.
About 1km from Kochi JR station, the only way to the hostel is walking. Staff is good but available before 8pm only. Room is clean & comfy but Wifi is not good, it's connented but no internet. Male shower room is on the 2nd Fl but male dorm is on the 3rd Fl.
Anyway, it's a good place to stay.
Brand new hotel with clean and classy infrastructure. The location is great as well, just next to the station with parking attached if you're using a car.
I particularly liked that the room has a humidifier + air purifier as well, which makes the room very comfortable to sleep in.
Very comfortable room and beds.
Staff is welcoming and helpful, even with limited English language abilities.
Convenient car park on the ground floor (limited spaces, arrive early).
Great breakfast includes bonito sashimi!
A very pleasant stay, and good value.
Beautiful hotel in traditional Japanese style. We stayed in the Japanese style rooms with tatami mats to sleep on. Plenty of room and clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Close to tram and bus stops. Highly recommend the train trip from Okayama to Kochi.
Older but well kept property, Jyoseikan is great value and convenient location for Kochi visitors as it is walking distance from the Kochi Castle and Hirome Market and buses and trams stoop right around the hotel to other destinations in Kochi City.
Great communication from the owner during our visit. Was as accommodating as possible.
Good living space.
Very good location, especially to Aeon Mall, Kochi Castle, Sunday market, etc
Ideal for backpackers as great value for money.
Location was perfect, close to Hirome Market, shops and restaurants. Great base to move around Kochi. Rooms were of a good size. Bed was very comfortable. Everything worked well. Staff were polite and spoke English.
35/40 square meters wide room, double big beds, bathroom with hydromassage and private sauna, huge tv, for the price of a standard 15 square metersbusiness hotel room. thank you.
Staff attitude was very professional.
Room was good.
i like different colors cups in the room.
they prepared any face and skin moisturizer
and cream that i need.
Great location next to the Kochi JR Station. Staff was able to help me ship my luggage to Narita airport on time and helped me fill out the paper work as well.
