I loved my hotel and the walk at Ayla! The food at Ali’s Central Restaurant was excellent too.
I visited the bazar / souq, and I don’t recommend that as it was so busy and nothing really there except cheap Chinese products
Leaving Aqaba and dealing with customs was a nightmare!

Aqaba is a wonderful city & port with a wonderful sea, beaches, weather, shops, hotels, restaurants, museums etc... People are very hospitable and friendly. Great landscape, palms, mountains, city tours and boat tours available all the time, this is apart from all the other water activities you can enjoy. You will also find a variety of shops with different items and reasonable prices. I strongly recommend to visit Aqaba at least once. Yet, if you have visited it once, you will visit again and again.
We were just there and are already planning for our next trip soon.
Definitely, we will visit again....

Aqaba is a friendly safe city by the Red Sea.
Aqaba is a friendly safe city by the Red Sea. It is the perfect location to go swimming, visit Petra and Wadi Rum or even visit the neighbouring countries by car or boat. The sea water is warm and the coral reefs are stunning. There are many restaurants and the city is very lively, especially in the evening. It is perfectly safe to walk around, everybody is very welcoming and friendly and it´s a great place for a relaxing vacation but where you can add several exciting day trips. I loved Aqaba and it has become one of my favourite places in the world.

Aqaba is a charming destination with pristine beaches, rich history, and vibrant marine life. Beyond its natural beauty, the city delights with delicious local cuisine, welcoming people, and affordable dining options. From flavorful coffee to historic landmarks, Aqaba offers a delightful and budget-friendly travel experience."
I had booked the first two nights through tour company I was travelling with. I was staying on an extra two nights and booked myself a better room - balcony with sea view. I wanted same room throughout and was prepared to pay for upgrade if necessary but a very helpful Mohammed at reception arranged for me to have same sea view room throughout for no extra charge. Was very happy with this and was a great room with fantastic sunset view. There's free wifi in the whole Tala bay area and you can use the sister hotels by the beach.
great view over old fort and jordan flag and the ocean, walking distance to shops and food, easy for hotel to call taxis. no direct access to beach or any outdoor pool but hotel is affiliated to a beach club you can go to. on-site pool is indoors. breakfast was fairly okay. room service was good and reasonable prices. spacious and clean rooms. loved you could open the windows! hotel staff very friendly and helpful! I was probably the only solo western female traveling there at that time.
Beautiful new hotel of just the right size to be cozy and relaxing. Spacious and very comfortable rooms, very high-tech.
The beach is beautiful and well-supervised, with corals and fish right in front of the seafront, perfect for an introductory snorkelling session leaving you to want more -> therefore booking was easy with the diving center for a boat trip to the famous Japanese Gardens (20 jod pp).
Good food overall (especially the breakfast)
Amazing staff!
The room was comfortable, and I loved that it had heat and AC both working. Even some 5* hotels big-name in Jordan only have heat and turn it on too high so it’s too hot. Therefore, we actually found this place more comfortable than that. I also thought it was wonderful that they have rooms with multiple beds for families for the price. All toiletries are provided. The restaurant was convenient as we got in late and didn’t have to leave for dinner.
Good value for money for a 5 star hotel. Rooms were pretty good, but the rooftop and pools were the highlight for me. You have great views of the city and the Red Sea and food & drink are served there. Breakfast was also of a high quality. Short walk to the beach and around the corner (10 min walk) from the JETT bus station if you intend on seeing other parts of Jordan. Also appreciated the warm cookies on arrival!
The property is located close to the beach. Corals and fish can be seen even without swimming. The rooms are ordinary 3-bed hotel rooms. There is Wi-Fi, but it works only close to the reception. They have a restaurant but we decided to go to the restaurant on the beach where grilled fish was exceptional. Breakfast is okay. They rent snorkeling equipment which can be used close to the hotel.
we have chosen this hotel only for sleepover before our flight early in the morning, so for this purpose it was okayish. The room itself was quite good, warm which was surprising, because before this hotel in Jordan we stayed into way more better hotels, but the rooms in them were cold. The receptionist lady was super nice, she recommended for us really good place to buy arabic sweets:)
Brand new rooms, perfectly clean, view and balcony, exactly like in pictures in Booking, perfect spot. steps to the beach and beach restaurants.... Just a note that the restaurants do not serve alcoholic drinks and the woman can not swim in bikinis. We went to the beach 7 km south, with restaurants and facilities, pools, beach chairs and sunbrellas. Short drive from the hotel.
1. Spacious Rooms: The Castle Beach Hotel in Aqaba offers generously sized rooms that resemble suites, providing separate living and bedroom areas for added comfort.
2. Convenient Location: The hotel's location is advantageous for guests looking to access the public beach, making it convenient for those seeking seaside relaxation.
Great location next to the high end hotels and main attractions in the city.
They gave us a free upgrade and our room was very big, comfortable and clean.
Super nice and helpful staff!
The breakfast buffet was also extremely good - almost 5 start hotel level.
All in all a great value for money hotel. I absolutely recommend it!
I came back to Grand Tala Bay after spending two days in Wadi Rum and Petra. I was again delighted by the kindness of the personel working there. Ahmed did everything to make sure I am satisfied with the stay. Also, swimming pools and the beach are great to relax after exploring Jordan. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
This is a luxury hotel without the snootiness of other hotels in the area. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is right on the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Anna was especially helpful. They have a nice happy hour in the martini bar and live entertainment each night. Bring closed toed shoes for men.
Great location right next to beach and close to the main shopping areas. The beds are very comfortable with ready availability of warm water. There hotel staff are very helpful and assisted with the luggage, booking cabs etc. The sea facing rooms are just awesome to sit and watch Red Sea.
Flexible, friendly and very helpful staff, espesially Hamza gave us good tips and upgraded our booking. We had a wonderful stay. If you want to see the non-touristic center near the souk, this hotel is a great choice. Nice rooms, nice breakfast and nice sauna.
Nice hotel with professional staff. We got a free room upgrade, which was much appreciated. New and clean rooms in a quiet area. Good location. Free parking on the street nearby. Good breakfast, Jordan style. Vfm especially at the price we got it.
The most helpful staff!! Everyone was very nice and helpful! The location was about 10 min walk from the city beach. The wifi was great. The breakfast was traditional Jordanian style which was good. Also, hotel was very clean and new.
Staff were very friendly even though they were super busy with so many guests since it was Eid. I liked that you could access the Tala Bay Beach and facilities in general. Electric charger in the parking was a plus.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tala Bay Resort. Our room was splendid and opened up right on the pool, and everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful! Loved being so close to restaurants and dive centers too.
