We had a good night here, there was clean bed linen and clean towels, clean bathroom, the kitchen was fine for what we needed. The kids were playing outside and there were no problems. It was very warm in the little house at the beginning of may.

Very clean and comfortable with great views. What else do you need? Easy to find and check in seamless. Would recommend highly.
This hotel was easy to find off the main Route 1. Accommodation was on the basic side, however it was clean and tidy. 24/7 tea & coffee available from the dining area. Staff were friendly and assisted where necessary. Reasonable buffet breakfast. It is more on the expensive side compared to other hotels we had stayed in but due to its location, it appears to be reasonably priced. There is plenty of off road parking. The village itself is quite compact but there is a lack of local restaurants. We can recommend the Sjavarborg Restaurant, on the quayside for evening meal.

We only stayed a night, arriving in a blizzard. It was absolutely stunning, the hot tub and sauna in the snow were simply breath-taking. We didn't even get a chance to check out Hvammstangi, unfortunately, but next time I will definitely stay here again!

We loved everything: the cottage, the view, the nice short talk with the owner, the aurora on our second evening!
The main restaurant at the village near the cottage is pricy but very good: save for it if needed, it is worth it (and needed as there is no kitchen in the cottage 😉).
The water could be ice cold at first, be patient, it will soon be (very) warm. Talk to the owner before your stay, it will explain the reason better than me!
One last point: the owner talked about a path to go to the shore of the fjord, but we didn't found it. Make sure he explain it to you clearly.

We stayed here for one night.
We stayed here for one night. We where a little concerned considering the remote area of the country. The owner greeted us very kindly and made us feel like at home. Once you step in you can feel the love she has put in to this place. I was really happy on how clean the house is. The bed limens where so clean and ironed. ♥️ the backyard was adorable. She had waffles for us and a home made jelly made. ♥️

Just a short walk out of town but far enough to be quiet and private. Guesthouse was a wonderful surprise. Modern, clean and a very well equipped kitchen for guests. Host even threw a pot of coffee on in the morning. Full fjord view from our bedroom. Turned out to be one of our best overnights in Iceland.
This place was very fun to stay at - there are horses on site and the world's friendliest canine greeter! The location is great - ocean view and very close to beautiful sites. The owners are welcoming. It apparently used to be a school before it was a hotel. Rooms are clean, breakfast was good, and location can't be beat. I loved getting to see horses our our window!
We stayed in the first unit, closer to the entrance. The place was roomy, with enough space for our luggages (which was always a problem with hotels). The water did have a strong sulfur smell but other than that, the place was very nice. The views are spectacular and there is a small town very close to it so gas and market are easily accessible.
We loved the space and enjoyed watching some YouTube videos on the TV. We only stayed one night, so didn’t get to enjoy the place as much as we would have liked. It was one of the best places we stayed in Iceland. The town also had a nice restaurant we enjoyed. In the morning, there wasn't much in town for a quick breakfast though.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hvammstangi Hill Homes. Our unit was comfortable and the views and location were amazing. Our host was very responsive when we had trouble re-locking the door (make sure you push the handle all the way up before you turn the key!) The path by the nearby river is well worth exploring.
It is a nice , warm and cozy guesthouse. Property owners provided us all details before we arrived their guesthouse. They even got ready hot tub for us.
They gave us a homemade jam for our breakfast 🧇. It was relaxing to stay at this guesthouse. Highly recommend it and we hope will come back in one day
The cottages are exactly as new, comfortable, and beautiful as the photos. Very well designed. Almost everything you’d need is provided. And the views out every window are gorgeous. Fields, rolling hills, the fjord in the distance, and Icelandic horses prancing around in the field next door.
This guest house is a gem. A sweeping view of the fiord, a tiny picturesque church and graveyard nearby, and lovely vintage Icelandic furniture, dishes, and decorative touches. Scrupulously clean and tidy with a well-appointed kitchen. I wish I had booked more than one night
We just came back from a truly wonderful stay at the guesthouse which was cosy and comfortable. The property has a very chill vibe and amazing amenities, really everything you could need whether you're there for adventure or relaxation or both.
I stayed there before really liked the place. This time one of the rooms had a leakage in the bathroom area, and the staff was able to change the room instantly for which I am very grateful. Overall I always liked this hotel!
No frills updated guesthouse in Hvammstangi. Check in was straightforward - just pick up the key with your name from the kitchen table. The room was cosy but sufficient for one person. The place looked clean and well kept.
We loved the place! It was our favourite in Iceland. Very nice room with an ocean view. Beautiful common space, very very big. Great bathrooms and the kitchen had just everything. Our host Olga was very warm and helpful.
Oskar is an extraordinary host, we felt like home. The place is simple, but it is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The road to access the guesthouse is a little rough, but it is part of the journey.
The cozy feeling you get in this place is truly awesome. It might look like a small cottage, but it has all you need inside for a good stay. Definitely better than most guesthouses etc.
Beautiful location on workings farm. Each room has its own sink. Easy check in. very kind owner. It’s an older home, but gives a real experience on living in Iceland.
