Senj is a small town on the coast. It isn't as crowded as other towns nearby. If you just focus on the beaches and the town itself you might get bored quickly. The mountains however in the area are beautiful and offer great views or hiking possibilities. Coming down from Alan to Jablanac for example offers the most beautiful views I ever experienced.
Restaurants offer mostly all kinda the same food. Bora 45 Hotel has good food, try the restaurants near the water in Lukovo south of Senj ( great road getting there), and the fish restaurant in Klenovica north of Senj.
Coast road to Senj can be very busy in August. So a good alternative route is the highway from Zagreb to Split.
If you want good Slivovic avoid the factory made, ask for farmer-made Slivovic, If you are lucky they sell it. More inland villages often have.
If you depend on good wifi, book a place near the central post office. If you get further away the speed can drop to 4-6 Mbps.

The beach is amazing, the people are friendly, the weather is usually great (but also windy).
The restaurants are an amazing price quality, especially Uskok which we dinnered at.
This is a town to stay at for 2 or max 3 days. I wouldn't stay for the whole week, there won't be anything to enjoy outside of the small town, small charming (amazing) beach and the castle with view.

It was nice and calm, with plenty of good restaurants downtown.
Beaches were not too crowded, the seaside is good for kids - pretty warm and calm sea. Paddleboarders will also enjoy.
It is very easy to get around the town by foot or car.
You can get any basic stuff in local supermarket.
Our stay was 2nd week of July and it was warm as hell even for destination like Croatia.

Senj is a small village with lots of restaurants and great views. Water is clean and deep blue. You can easily fell love with the place because everything is so close. Mountine keeps rain away, the climate is mild. We had days like 20-25 degrees and a wind. It ment long walks without sun burning. There is also a historical castle from 16th century.

The town of Senj is a pleasant small town with a very rich history. The narrow streets of the old city center, the palaces, the cathedral, the city gates, and especially the Nehaj fortress and the newly renovated park around it, are certainly a lure for anyone who likes to get to know the old Mediterranean urban units or rest on the way along the beautiful Adriatic road that winds under the Velebit mountain range.
the owner was very nice and helpful, she helped me with navigation, communication was great, very spacious apartment, it breath by history with modern and nicely designed interior, there was everything you need and a little bit more ;-)
Directly in the centre of Senj, in historical part - I was little bit afraid about parking, but it was without any problem even there was a festival in the city
price can be always lower but we were satisfied with what we got for the price ;-)
The hostess of the apartment is an amazing lady. Upon arrival she introduced not just the apartment, but also prepared a small welcome package for us including information about Senj and its main attractions (maps, tourist info leaflet...etc). The apartment is brand new, very clean and well equiped. When we left our hostess personally said good by and asked our feedback about the stay. Not to mention we got also a nice farwell gift. So Iva, Thank You for everything.
Can't say enough positive about this place. Danijela met us as we pulled up and showed us where to park next to the building. At 60 euros, this room (actually an apartment) may have been the nicest room we had on our trip. Danijela could not have been nicer. The balconies have a spectacular view of the Adriatic and nearby islands. A market is next door and Senj old town is a five-minute walk away.
The location, the silence around us, the apartment - well equipped, and clean, ideal for families. Please note that this is a small bay outside of Senj, right at the see, so you'll have to use your car to go to restaurants shopping. But this is the advantage of the location, nothing disturbs you if you want to chill and slow down a little bit.
Whether you’re travelling on a budget or have money to spend Hotel Art has what you need. I don’t think the price can be beaten in the area and you get sea views and a comfy double bed. The staff are extremely friendly. I was able to keep my bike in my room which provided me with extra peace of mind. Would highly recommend staying here.
The apartment was extremely well equipped. There is literally anything you might need: extra towels and linens, bathroom rugs, kitchen utensils, appliances, and even an emergency kit. There is also AC. The staff was very kind and helpful. Close to the beach (walking distance) and the little town of Senj.
Beautiful location with peace, wind, and no crowds in the city. Good shade under the tree. A pleasantly homely furnished apartment. Quick access to the sea on foot or by car. The town of Senj has an exceptional cultural and historical heritage. Be sure to visit the museum.
A superb apartment for a stopover in Senj. It was clean, good cooking facilities, though we did not cook, and a big comfy bed. Great shower too.
It was about a 20 minute walk into the centre, which was lovely.
There is a nice terrace to sit and have breakfast.
A very comfortable accommodation in the town center, within short walking distance to every point of interest in Senj. Lovely hostess who bid us warm welcome and farewell. Would recommend to anyone traveling to/through Senj.
Everything! Beautifully furnished apartment! Lots of character and an incredible view of Senj and the Adriatic. We were made welcome with a drink. Barbara our host was great. Fun, helpful and she even upgraded our room.
It is the centre of the small town, the view from balcony is nice. Parking is a bit tricky but ok. Senj is a nice small town although it is quite busy with traffic going through on coastal highway.
Clean and spacious apartment, great location - near Nehaj Fortress and just 10min walk to Senj old town. Host Ivo is very kind and helpful. Suggest this apartment if you are visiting Senj.
The appartment was perfect and very well equipped. We arrived there after a hard cycling day and was a blessing found this coulpe. If you are in Senj just go to this appartment 😉.
