Its a beautiful house in magnificent grounds. There's a buzz of creative activity about West Dean which is what will entice me back to attend one of their many courses. We ate in the local pub, as we only stayed one night: a very pleasant but not too long a walk away. Look out for the peacock on the roof of a house in the village, he'll certainly make his presence felt. Our room was lovely, the bed extremely comfortable, all our needs anticipated with a hair dryer, iron etc, and the ensuite bathroom very luxurious. I couldn't have wished for more. Take sturdy shoes as the grounds are extensive and worth a look.

Really enjoyed the outdoor pool for daily swim, although changing facilities very basic & rather a trek from the main house. An evening meal was available, but not taken. Disappointed in cooked breakfast choice, although cold buffet bits were good. Comfy room. Helpful staff. Lovely grounds. Ideal for a quiet escape. There were 'student activities' happening, but they did not compromise our stay.

THis is a unique and very special place, hard to compare wit anywhere else because it is a beautiful building, run very efficiently but with friendly staff. Breakfast, in a canteen setting, was excellent, the room was fantastic and I loved every minute except for leaving!

We enjoyed the evening meal at The Partridge Inn better than the Selsey Arms. We were there to visit the Weald and Downland Museum on our 55th Wedding Anniversary on the 29th., so it was very convenient. Had a great day, but very tiring.

Great manor with lots of history…room are very basic and not worth the money. Would only recommend for a day trip without staying at the actual manor. Wouk’s recommend only fkr a visit not a overnight stay

A beautiful location, the freedom to walk in the gardens and parkland is a huge bonus. It is peaceful. My room was great - comfortable, clean and warm. The building itself is fabulous. I didn't leave the site. I ate in the restaurant for all my meals and was impressed by the choice and the different dietary options on offer. Pleasant and efficient staff at reception to answer any questions, likewise the catering staff and the housekeeping staff. I look forward to staying again.

Very helpful and accommodating since we had a trailer attached to our car so needed a secure place of sufficient size to park it safely over night. Night security were alerted to keep an eye on it. Coming to near Chichester to pick up a trailer we had purchased was our reason for the visit to the area and we made the most of the journey but having a wonderful nights stay at West Dean College with enough time to enjoy exploring the beautiful grounds on arrival and a lovely breakfast before leaving for home. We will definitely come again.

The hotel (a grand country house used asa hotel) gives an incredible feeling of being allowed to immerse in the English history. The interior, the furniture, the art, which surrounds guests at every steps create a very special unforgettable atmosphere. The other thing is a gorgeous pristine nature, which surrounds the building on a magnificent scale. The hotel facilities allow comfort an piece of mind; very tasty English breakfast with variety of choices on top of this.

If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful, scenic and beautiful place to stay, the West Dean manor house and extensive and gorgeously landscaped gardens and grounds are the place to go. Just need to have a car. Great full breakfast, but must go out for lunch and dinner. Also enjoyed the heated swimming pool. Beds very comfortable. Be warned though, no AC, no TV. Not generally needed, and windows open. Lots of places to explore (by car) for day trips.

The location is lovely, so is the pub and the food! My only regret is loitering in Chichester during the day and not heading to West Dean earlier to enjoy it fully. Great size rooms and all very comfortable.
