Bala lake itself is obviously the main attraction and that was well visited when we were there but there was plenty of car parking to access along with excellent options for access to the lake from various car parks on both sides of the lake. You could even take a ride on the steam train and get off at an excellent bay in which to canoe, swim, paddle and enjoy a full family day at leisure.JohnUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The town has everything that you'd need & the surrounding countryside is beautiful with some easy walks & some for the more adventurous. I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour.
I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour. Beautiful country around. White Lion Royal Hotel is a good place to stay, especially if you need an early start, as it serves breakfast early. It also serves excellent pub food - though the kitchen closed early this day, so I missed out. There are several other places to eat along the High Street, including pizza places and an Indian restaurant.

Disappointed of the town not a bit like we expected.Two nights we ate in a small Bistro just two doors from the hotel, the food was excellent and very friendly staff and service . It was called Cyfnod Cafe and Bistro.

However, the choice of bread slightly let the meals down, although this is only a small point and more feedback to the hotel, rather than detracting from the overall quality of our stay. Good size toilet and shower. Sitting space is also very spacious and comphy to gather around the dinning table. The cottage was roomy and well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We loved the build BBQ, the deck wooden deck and the enclosed private backyard where our border collie could have some fun. .
