Good place to stay on way down from Calais to the South of...
Good place to stay on way down from Calais to the South of France or Spain. Busy town with square right by the hotel but I think a back room may be quieter in the summer. Plenty going on in and around the town. Fortress within walking distance.

When we came to leave they said we had only booked for one person and we had not paid so the price almost doubled. The night staff were excellent and very helpful although they could not speak English very well and we have very limited French. The hotel was very difficult to find in the dark. Wasted an hour searching lanes around the Abbey. Had we known the proper cost and that we had not paid we would not have stayed so we feel conned.
