Sol Guadalmar, hotel in Málaga

Surrounded by attractive gardens, the Sol Guadalmar features 2 outdoor swimming pools for adults and children.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, right on the beach. The extra €84 euro was worth it for the sea view room (we were on the 6th floor), the pool area was lovely, nice little pool bar serving coffee, soft drinks & alcohol, they served food too but we didn’t eat from there. The beach bar serves lovely fresh fish & salads etc, worth a visit. Near to the airport but didn’t hear any plane noise from our room. 15 minute taxi ride into Malaga Centre. Overall a fairly decent hotel.

All the staff were very attentive and pleasant and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Would stay here again if returning to Malaga.

FAQs about hotels in Málaga

The Colourful Soul of the Costa del Sol

The birthplace of Picasso is as colourful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place amongst the youthful square of the old centre, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.

There’'s also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.

A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga’s most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 10 km from the centre of town.

From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your sunny holiday.

I knew nothing about Malaga before I made the trip other than it was the birth place of Picasso. After the week I knew so much more about the place and it definitely have something for everyone in different age and budget. Art lovers won't be disappointed and so do those interested in gastronomy, history, beaches and clothes shopping.

Liked most the port area and market type shops there and bars and the views. Beach is a nice option in a city. Plenty of historic things to see. Car and fashion museum very good. Liked least that restaurants extremely meat oriented. Even tapas ones. Very few options if any for vegan/ vegetarian if you don’t eat dairy products.

Beautiful city, especially for a long weekend. Mixture of fun and culture and it even has a beach on the other side of the harbour. Fabulous city for singles, couples and families - lots to do. Most places are easy to walk to. There were quite a few hen/stag events, but the noise got lost in the hubbub of the place, so it did not worry us.

Wifi inside apartment is good, I had video calls, it was stable and without any problems The terrace is amazing! Even considering that you need go out from apartment to enter to the terrace, still it was great, with nice view. Nice beach-front hotel located right on the Guadalmar beach, a private community around 20 minutes from the center of Málaga and a 10-minute drive to the airport. We took taxis to the center of Malaga without problems. There is actually a taxi stand on the property. Taxi service in Spain is very good, cheap and safe. We loved our spacious room on the seventh floor with a nice balcony facing the beach. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was attentive and kind. Excellent buffet breakfast with many options and tasty foods.

Breakfast was enough to choose from and tasted great. Room was very larg, with a comfortable large (king size) bed. Simple furnished, incl. coffee machine and refridgerator. Large bath with plenty of warm water and pressure. The Hotel is within walking distance to downtown Malaga, beach, harbor, ATM, and shopping/restaurants - great location. It was quiet during our stay, and we enjoyed the location and friendly staff. What I thought was interesting is that they contacted me via WhatsApp and provided helpful information.

Ideal hotel for a short break to Malaga, truly excellent location, for access to old town, (right next to cathedral) and sight- seeing, beautiful views of Malaga. Roof top area has exceptional panoramic view of Malaga Beach and marina a very short walk away. We had a sea view which I would recommend. Stayed bed and breakfast, breakfast not the most exceptional but adequate. However there are so many places to eat spoilt for choice and reasonably priced. Perfect:location - 5min by car to Airport and all the car rentals, 25min by foot to the beach - so we managed to spend a half of our last day in Malaga swimming, having a dinner in one of nice restaurants nearby , and there was no need to go to the city center. But if someone needs to - public transportation will help. They even have small free Parking, if there will be no place - 6eur/day in an underground parking. We can absolutely recommend staying in the hotel!
