I attained the objective of my visit.
I attained the objective of my visit. But for the poor hygiene and sanitation at the Hotel Sawa, all other things were very good. Dinner at the Gemi Wing restaurant was excellent. I can easily move around Douala because of the availability of different transport options. On my net visit, I will avoid the Sawa Hotel

Douala is the life wire of the Cameroon economy, with lots businesses centered here. It is easy to get around with yellow taxi, taxi from your hotel or using a mobile app to get a taxi. The town is at the sea bed of the atlantic ocean and the wouri river, heavy rainfall, hot and humid weather! Akwa, where my hotel was located, was not clean at all, especially at Boulevard Ahmadou Ahidjo. The streets had not been swept and refuse dump every where.

The house was dusty and the fridge dirty. The sheet were of the same as what was advertised hence not changed. The electricity is prepaid and i have to pay for that. I later noted that under the bed was never swept. ( see picture). They were cockroaches in the bathroom. Douala is a beautiful city but you just have to be careful when making a reservation for a place to stay because you can see many of them online of which they do exist even if you do resaved a place make sure to having a conversation with them before starting your journey if ever the contact number provided doesn’t go through forget it because it will never go through.

If you want to have excellent and gorgeous fish for lunch/dinner, go to Base Navale, there you will find places looking very simple, some built in colonial style, but the feeling and the fresh catch of the day will let you dream.

I told him that I have to leave hotel early morning next day at 6:30 am -- and he arranged the airport shuttle for 6:30 am exactly and even sent me a room breakfast very early at 6:00 am. Rooms are spacious and wifi connection is reasonably good.

Douala doesn't have a lot of good hotels and therefore this hotel was recommended by a colleague. My experience with the front desk staff from the arrival date to when I left was a nightmare. However my experience at the restaurant was good and that's what kept me staying at the hotel for that extended period.
