It was a beautiful historical property. The baseboards, mouldings and doors are stunning. The location is great and it was very quiet at night. It is a smaller hotel so there is not a lot of movement in the corridors. Our room was clean.

    We had a nice visit!

We had a nice visit! Although the parking is a little weird at the hotel, but we were fine. Also since our visit was during Summer, the AC was not enough for the whole place. However, we were gone most of the day, so we survived! We will definitely come back at Sleeping giant BNB for accommodation. Kalabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park are a few of our favorites! Also the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Natl Park. :) Mount McKay is also a nice place yo visit! :)

Thunder Bay is close to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park—about an hour’s drive—which is a phenomenal place for hiking at all levels. It’s an easy trip back and forth, and the primary reason I visited Thunder Bay (there are no hotels near the park). I didn’t explore the city-proper very much. It’s easy to drive around. Also seems to have a robust bus system that no one uses! There’s a downtown area with many restaurants and bars, but it wasn’t very busy, even on a weekend night. Best place I ate was a Thai restaurant, Thai Kitchen (11 Cumberland Street), which was excellent.

There aren’t enough hotels and the ones they have that are good book up quickly. The ones left aren’t worth staying in, but it’s too late to get to another town once you realize it. Plan ahead and book early is my advice.

My reason for staying there was STRICTLY medical, not pleasure. I travelled over two thousand miles to get the medical help I needed, because of the FAILURE of the CORPORATE medical mafia (YES, the medical system is the upgraded mafia system) establishment wants to TREAT people but NEVER CURE people as there is no money in "curing" people. They are the LEGAL DRUG DEALERS WITH LICENSE, WITH HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS OF THEIR DRUGS. I KNOW, I AM ONE OF THE VICTIMS OF THEIR GREED. For the medical reason, hot tub was a crucial part of my trip and you ALSO failed to tell me that the hot tub was there for the show not for the go. For the proper health benefit, hot tub AND swimming pool go hand in hand! THIS IS FUNDAMENTAL HEALTH CARE!

We went for a family wedding, but should have went earlier to see the sights. We stayed at the Harbour Front and it was gorgeous. Beautiful weather, Lake Superior ! But like every where else, short staffed. Stayed at Delta Marriot, brand new hotel, but restaurant closed for breakfast as no staff. No bar. No snack counter. Starbucks closed at 11am on Saturday and Sunday !!!!! the young people working there were very helpful.

Thunder Bay hotels are so full in summer ,so difficult to find a hotel there., l call all the hotels in Thunder Bay from Marriot to Motel, all the hotels are full.Fortunately, our front desk girl Sara is so helpful,so nice ,she tried to help me to let’s check in earlier, finally we have a bed to rest after a whole night in Walmart parking lot.Room is good, location is good too. I give this hotel 5 stars because of Sara. The hotel must be proud of their employees , so considerate of their customers.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times on our way through Thunder Bay. It has never disappointed. The last couple of times we have booked a king suite and have found it to be very spacious and comfortable. When we stay here we order a takeout dinner from The Five Forks restaurant next door which is so handy and has many delicious options. There is a lot of choice for the breakfast at the hotel and the friendly, helpful person who works in the breakfast area keeps it spotless!

I had one of the units with a twin bed and it was a perfect, affordable little set up for my short trip! I was out and about most of the time I was in Thunder Bay, so I didn't spend a lot of time in my unit besides sleeping and showering, and it was just what I needed for my stay! The mattress and bedding were both so comfy! Made it super easy to fall asleep! Definitely going to recommend Sleeping Giant BNB to anyone I know who is traveling up to Thunder Bay!

welcoming open concept with great artwork and clean. I absolutely loved my time there. even a kettle for my coffee in the morning on the counter in the kitchen. first time I have ever stayed at a hostel, it opened my eyes, mind and maybe just a little piece of my heart. thank you so much to all of the volunteers, staff and Holly for making my time in Thunder Bay exactly what I needed.

Wonderful location. We came with bikes and toured the waterfront and a bit of the downtown area on them. Staff recommended we bring the bikes inside for the night, which was a nice consideration. We used the kitchen to prepare the pizzas (frozen) which we purchased from Haven. Yummy! Played 'revenge cribbage' with staff post-dinner. Wonderful way to pass an evening.

I didn't like the area. Constantly being begged on. Parking a real issue. Construction had all the streets closed. Apartment was bare bones. Bathroom bare bones. TP holder gone. One very small window, no A/C. I do feel I got what I paid for. It was cheap, but not enjoyable. Another older couple had a very hard time with the stairs and the accommodations.

The hotel was hosting evacuees from Deer Lake, Ontario due to the wild fires. They offered us an upgraded room which was a lovely surprise. This hotel had a great reputation many years ago and I was concerned that it had gone down hill over time....I was pleasantly surprised that it was just as nice as I had hoped.

Beautiful hotel - incredibly well fit out. The bed was luxurious. Big thick towel, heated bathroom floor. Pet friendly (though only on the ground floor). There is dedicated hotel parking lot that was well lit and felt secure. Also loved the massive lawn and with a dog, that was great!

Hotel feels brand new, and definitely has some features you find in larger, 4-star hotels. The lobby and breakfast area are good examples. You almost forget that you’re in Thunder Bay. In fact, the area surrounding the hotel isn’t all that nice, so it feels like an oasis of sorts.

Not much can be said - Best Western has their corporate standards, and the hotels are very much alike, so you pretty well know what you get. They are not fancy, but the basics are there. Basically, you get what you pay for.
