After a 3 day Salt Flats and Bolivia tour we booked this hotel last minute as we were exhausted and didn't want to catch the bus that night. The beds were so comfortable! A big thick doona (blanket), it was great having a big TV to watch and unwind.
Bathroom was great with a hot shower!
Location was a short stroll into town for dinner!
We were asked if we were married for matrimonial bed and with the language barrier I said no so were provided with two single beds haha but that was on me and probably could have swapped if we asked.
Breakfast was self serve - not a huge amount of options but there was enough!

Fly to El Alto International Airport, La Paz, then take a domestic flight to Joya Andina Airport, Uyuni (1 hour). Alternatively, from La Paz, take a bus (10-12 hours) or train from Oruro (7 hours). Transfers required for bus and train options.
The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is El Alto International Airport in La Paz. It's the highest international airport and approximately 730km from Uyuni, offering numerous connecting flights.
Navigating Uyuni, Bolivia, is straightforward. The town is compact, making walking a viable option. For longer distances, taxis are readily available and affordable. Cycling isn't common due to the terrain. Public transport is limited, with no bus or train services within the town. Always negotiate taxi fares in advance.

Salar is just an amazing place, a wonder the Word!
Salar is just an amazing place, a wonder the Word! Both when dry, as well as when flooded.
Uyuni town very ugly, avoid it is possible, full of dirty roads and dirt in the air, if you are sensitive or allergic, do not go downtown and stay in one of the 3 nicests salt hotels in the Salar outside town.
Best restaurant in town is Tika, in the hotel Jardin of Uyuni (nice hotel too)

No matter what season (dry or wet)you go to Uyuni, you will see amazing views. But I recommend dry season since you will have chance to see both wet area and “beautiful” dry area. And for the starlight tour, you’ll see beautiful stars without clouds!

Uyuni came at the end of our San Pedro de Atacama - Uyuni...
Uyuni came at the end of our San Pedro de Atacama - Uyuni private tour (3 days-2 nights) that was exceptional, so not much left to see around the small city except the people and plazas, although the small museum on the army base was very interesting and informative, as recommended by Chris. We stayed three nights and found the hotel clean and very well located to walk around.
The restaurant, and more specifically Chris, was outstanding catering breakfast on a jazzy note and offering delicious pizzas by evening.
Our room didn't have natural light nor a view, nor a closet, hooks nor hangers which made things a little complicated in our case, since we had some heavy luggage. Everybody at the hotel was most helpful and I would definitly recommend staying there.

Uyuni Salt Flats has been on our bucket list for years and we were super excited to visit. It exceeded our expectations and will return soon. It is easy to get around the town. If you want to explore the salt flats and the Andes it's best to hire a tour guide. We had the best 7 days in and around Uyuni. We dined at Tika, Tacuru, and local vendors. The food was delicious and filling. Our favorite places were the salt flats and exploring the Andes.

Small derelict little town which wouldn’t be as busy if it wasn’t for the world famous salt flats. However, there are many restaurants and bars to accommodate tourists as well as a bus terminal and an airport. A must if you’re in South America.
Overall we really enjoyed this hotel, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean with a very nice bathroom/shower. They had complimentary coffee/tea all night in the cozy breakfast area and breakfast was nice. They also offer a way to get food delivered so you don't have to go back into town for dinner which was nice because it is a little far, about a 20 minute walk from more central Uyuni. I would definitely stay here again!
Clean, safe and quite hotel. The front desk had English speaking staff which was very helpful and organised a tour of the salt planes for us with an hour notice. We went on a private tour with Three Giants expedition and Beto was a great guide. Due to altitude sickness we were only staying one night in Uyuni and this afternoon was our only opportunity to see the salt planes. Breakfast included staples like coffee, toast, egg and more.
The owner was most hospitable. Despite the language barrier he provided directions for a currency exchange and organised a shared taxi to the airport. He also offered a heater but the bed was so warm we didn't need it. We were surprised at how spacious and lovely the room was. The hotel was very walkable to shops, restaurants and tour operators. Would recommend staying here, definitely value for money.
For this range of price this was better than what I had in so many places. They even have a fixed radiator which works extremely well. Also the woman in the reception is very kind and the hotel is very well placed and the room was super clean and comfy and had hot shower. The hotel even had an elevator. I am so happy I booked this hotel before going for a 3 rough days tour in Salar de Uyuni.
Lovely clean rooms. heaters in the rooms. lovely tea and cookie treat on arrival❤️ Fantastic owners who are Bolivian and American so have perfect English which is great as we didn’t have a lot of Spanish. BEST breakfast we had in all of Bolivia, beautiful fruit, yoghurt, granola, bagels, pancakes etc. Kitchen is a pizza place at night which serves huge and tasty pizzas.
We loved staying at the Hotel Cesare in Uyuni. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. Cesare and his staff provided outstanding service. They assisted us with everything from ordering a taxi to helping us with food delivery orders. Plus, we were able to wash some laundry! Highly recommended for your stay in Uyuni!
- enough blankets to feel warm at night but without being weighed down at night
- great, free breakfast (eggs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereal, bread, jam, bananas)
- book exchange corner
- clean bathrooms with enough toilet paper
- sockets right next to every bed
- option to pay in either bolivianos or US dollars
Nice and affordable hotel with great value for money; room has heating, which we found so good and comforting considering how cold was Uyuni during our visit (-10 °C during morning); nice and modern room with big bathroom to enjoy a nice hot shower; good breakfast
The check in was fast and the room was beyond huge!!!! The people at the front desk were great as they set me up a taxi to the airport and helped with my luggage. The ambiance of the hotel was great and the food up in the restaurant was well above average.
Breakfast was good; location was good in relation to Llama Cafe and our Salar de Uyuni tour operator dropoff. The 'superior' rooms looked nice though we didn't wind up staying in it because they didn't have a double bed (and it was up 4 flights of stairs).
HUGE rooms!!
Warm as heating kept on (which is difficult when it’s so cold in Uyuni)
Interesting hotel given original salt
Nicely decorated rooms
Big nice bathroom with good shower
Good breakfast
Cheap laundry service
The room was big and beds were comfortable. The bathroom and shower was big too. The hotel was pretty decent for the location and price. It was near the airport. It was in front of a nice restaurant.
I had a spacious room which was clean and offered a nice view of Uyuni. The hotel has warm water. The team is great, I got breakfast earlier, as I needed to leave early and they called a taxi for me.
Breakfast was a wonderful buffet of fruit, baked goods, pancakes and eggs. One of the best in Bolivia. Staff was delightful, bright smiles, quick service and pleasant breakfast room. Loved it!!!!!!1
Excellent crews in the hotel, as they’re so helpful, nice, and honest. Unbeatable price! Great Wi-Fi, hot water, and they also provide shower products, including hair conditioner.
