Everything was absolutely perfect. The place itself is a true paradise, and if I were ever to get married, I'd do it here! They also had a beautiful indoor pool, open from early to late, which was a big plus. And the breakfast was probably one of the best I've had in Portugal!

The house and the view are spectacular. Ricardo and Ana are the most amazing caretakers of the house and simply the nicest people who made our experience even better. If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries, it doesn’t get better than this. Don’t be afraid of the dirt road that leads to the house - we rented a Ford Puma and we arrived just fine.

Featuring a swimming pool, a garden, a bar and views of the pool, Muas Guest House is set in Vila Real and offers accommodation with free WiFi. What a view! We got a balcony room overlooking the mountain and towns below, as well as the pool and cute bar area downstairs. The room itself is quite small, but the bed was great and we really stayed here to be near the scenic area and Fisgas de Ermelo, the truly epic waterfall within a 20 minute drive of the property through the beautiful mountain area. The host was great, friendly to talk to and gave us some great tips (plus a quite good affordable bottle of wine for the evening). Make sure to bring dinner with you or stop before you come for the evening as there is nothing in the immediate area. Breakfast was quite good too. There is also a pool and hot tub, although it was too cold for us to use those (even in July). Overall, if you're driving through the area, it's worth a stop!

Situated in Alijó, 23 km from Natur Waterpark and 43 km from Douro Museum, CASAS DA RUA NOVA offers barbecue facilities and air conditioning. It is a brand new renovation of a very old property in a Portuguese village so if you want all mod cons (well appointed kitchenette, washing machine, dishwasher, A/C etc) but away from the tourists it is the place for you. Luisa the owner is kind, helpful and generous. We loved the fresh bread, fruit and basic supplies left for us.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Casa da Relva inspirado em Harry Potter is located in Lamego, 50 km from Natur Waterpark and 16 km from Lamego Museum. Really nice house inspired by Hagrid’s home, not to be missed for Harry Potter’s fans.

Situated only 12 km from Natur Waterpark in Peso da Régua, Casa das Vinhas Velhas by Casa do Poço features accommodation fitted with a balcony, garden and seasonal outdoor pool. Cecilia and Fernando were lovely hosts! we will definitely come back! The place was very tidy and clean, had clean sheets and towels, a private pool, a nice balcony to eat outside with the amazing view. They gave us wood for the outside barbecue which was amazing, they were always available for our questions, had a lot of really good recommendations, and Fernando also gave us a taste of his Porto wine as a welcome. Unforgettable stay! We also asked for additional wine tasting at their vineyard which is a must if you stay there! it is a perfect place for a couple or families touring the Douro valley, even just for relaxing with the beautiful view of the vineyard, just breathtaking. Highly recommend it!

The hosts were super friendly and provided recommendations for activities in the area. The garden was lovely with a great pool. The private setting offered a peaceful experience surrounded by beautiful nature.
