Kayube Bungalows is located 25 km away from Livingstone Town. The property is located at the Zambezi River across the Zambezi National Park and offers chalet accommodation.

Offering magnificent river views, the air-conditioned and private chalets are tucked away under huge indigenous trees. Each has a spacious veranda and a well-equipped kitchen with stove, oven and refrigerator. The bathrooms are fitted with a shower.

Karien, the manager, takes with her team care of the guest from arrival to departure. They were there, when needed, and went out of our way when we wanted to relax. The house was very clean und equipped with everything we needed. Awesome ! It is only a few meters away from the river and we had stunning views on the river at sunrise and sunset. Truly magic. We enjoyed the two-hour-boat trip as well. Junior was the Guide and he gave us the time we needed to look at birds and other animals. We enjoyed it and will definitely come back. Thanks Karien !

Wow what a hidden gem this place is! The service is outstanding and the care you receive is above and beyond for a 3 star hotel. From the moment you arrive until you leave you are very well looked after. Caroline, Ken & Destiny are so lovely and kind, made us feel very much at home. The breakfast is cooked to your liking, we spent 8 nights here and enjoyed every day. The pool is kept clean everyday. Its lovely and quiet too. The only thing I would suggest is that they start providing lunch and dinner. We did order from Zest restaurant a few times but it arrived cold, but the brilliant hotel staff did warm it up for us. There is a supermarket 5 minute walk away called Choppies. Where the lodge is based there is no street lighting so not recommended to go out after dark. We booked our trips with Chikondi safaris & Tours +260 97 5730682 Chande knowledge is excellent and offers a wide range of trips. Thank you to everyone who made this trip of a lifetime such an amazing experience. Maxine & Paul Stevens

Some units have a balcony and/or patio.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy a continental or a buffet breakfast. The restaurant at Maramba River Lodge specialises in international cuisine.

This was our second stay at Maramba River Lodge and as always it was a comfortable and welcoming stay. We even woke up to a hippo and elephant wandering past our cabin at night. The team are friendly and helpful and helped us organise tours in the area. There is a new restaurant area being built which will be great once finished.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

Great location on the main street of the city. Spacious rooms, very outdated but clean and comfortable. Restaurant has an Indian menu which is delicious and prices are very fair. Breakfast is ok but not many healthy options. Staff is super friendly. What is surprising, they offer free shuttle from and to the border.

Tasteless sausage, cooked very hard, served without bread. The homemade bread we received after complaining was good though. Free 🥭. I advised the helpful, friendly Mary to cook mango chutney label it and sell to add to the charities income.

The chef makes wonderful dishes. Try her lemon meringue dessert and the Zambezi bream. We enjoyed the morning river cruise. The river chalets are very comfortable. Note: the river view chalets do not have a river view but a channel view.
