So helpful, kind, and accommodating. They were always available to give us helpful tips and directions and even assisted us getting settled into an uber when we departed. The property itself is perfectly located. Just a minute walk from the bus stop and less than five minutes from the the Old Street. You feel like you're right in the heart of the neighborhood, but in a quiet and peaceful spot just away from the crowds. We chose a room with a sea view and it is exactly as beautiful as you've seen in photos. The room itself was a perfect size with a cool, industrial design. We were there on a particularly cold and rainy couple of days, but the bed was so warm and cozy to snuggle into. Breakfast was simple, well-balanced, and filling and our hostess was kind enough to make me something separate to accommodate a vegetarian diet. Be mindful that there are stairs, but nothing too taxing.

晶晶輕旅民宿 is situated in Ruifang, 27 km from Raohe Street Night Market, 27 km from Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area, and 29 km from Taipei 101. We loved this place and everything about it. The host is lovely—she gave us many recommendations, ensured we knew what trains to take for our outings, gave us small gifts and goodies, offered to help us get laundry washed, and provided flexibility with check in and check out. All this she did with patience and a smile, even though we could not speak Mandarin and had to rely on translation apps. The location is excellent—walking distance to several buses and trains to nearby Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall, Bitoujiao, Keelung, and other great spots. The room itself is quiet, comfortable, and spacious with great lighting. It seems very clean and modern, with nothing out of date and everything functioning perfectly. It is well-appointed and nicely laid out. Guests have access to water, a refrigerator, a tea kettle, coffee, and fast/consistent WiFi. The toiletries and soaps were luxury, and we took note of the shower gel in particular so we can buy it to take home. This place is exceptional value, easy to book and find, and offered us complete privacy and autonomy. The host provided great communication from our initial booking until we said goodbye. Overall we give this hotel our highest recommendation—it was our favorite hotel of the 4 we stayed in on our visit throughout the island. The next time we come to the Taipei area, we will stay here.

Boasting a garden and views of sea, A Promised Land BnB is a recently renovated homestay situated in Jiufen, 35 km from Raohe Street Night Market. Really nice surprise, super big room, very clean, very tasty breakfast! Really good coffee. We mentioned last minute (sorry!!) that we were actually vegetarian and the owner disappeared to the kitchen and made a really nice French Toast as an alternative. The owner was so helpful even arranged a machine to dry our super wet shoes😍 that saved the next day!

Set 34 km from Raohe Street Night Market, Twilight Forest offers a garden, and air-conditioned accommodation with a patio and free WiFi. The property is perfect in every way, it’s like stepping into a completely different world. It creates a vibe that you live in the “spirited away” world. The location is super convenient, I walked to the old street in less than 10 minutes and you get to enjoy the quiet little town all by yourself before the tourists get in in the morning and after tourists leave at night. The host is super helpful when you need anything, you can also book day tours and massage to the room with the host. I’m extremely terrified of bugs, because this is in a forest and I was traveling by myself, that was a concern. But I didn’t encounter anything in my two nights of stay.

Offering a shared lounge and quiet street view, 106 Homestay is set in Ruifang, 26 km from Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area and 28 km from Taipei 101. Can't expect much for that price. It was a fair deal.

Boasting garden views, Jiufen Back Yard Homestay features accommodation with balcony, around 33 km from Raohe Street Night Market. With city views, this accommodation provides a patio. Everything was perfect. The location is very good, right at the top of Jishan street, where it is pretty quiet, but you can reach everything you need in Jiufen by only walking a couple of minutes. The room is spacious, has everything you need and a smart toilet as well as AC and a dehumidifier. Bed was very comfortable as well. The host is great! He welcomed me personally and told me a lot about Jiufen and the area and gave me recommendations for food as well as small trips. The price is reasonable, you really can't ask for anything more. There is also a breakfast included which the host places in front of your room door in the morning and you can collect and enjoy whenever you want, which was also very much appreciated. Great host and great place to enjoy Jiufen and the Pingxi area!
