The owners were great, it’s nice to meet and find so lovely people on your journey. The house was super nice and the surrondings looked very good (we had bad weather so we couldnt do the Tongariro). If one day we are back here, we will for sure come back to this accomodation.

Part of a larger house, Frankie & Hugh's is a renovated, self-contained apartment situated in Ohakune, just a 20-minute drive from the Turoa ski field on Mount Ruapehu. Our best accommodation in New Zealand. We got great coffee, fresh tomatoes and thyme straight from Marlene's garden. And speaking of them, Marlene and her husband are great hosts and deserve all the best. Great rooms, cozy living room, full kitchen and a fireplace heater.

Included washer and dryer and laundry soap. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were late leaving, and the staff were very gracious about our problems.

Free breakfast, free WiFi and free parking are all included at The River Lodge, offering spacious rooms with satellite TV. You can relax in the 6-person hot tub or in a hammock beside the river. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast/dining room had a real chalet feel. The location is idyllic and only a short drive to Ohakune. The wood burner was lovely to have in the room as well.
